Okposo (illness) participated in line rushes during pregame warmups, indicating he'll be in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Sharks, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okposo missed Thursday's morning skate due to an illness, but he'll slot into his usual spot skating on the Sabres' second line and second power-play unit against the Sharks. The 29-year-old forward has struggled out of the gate, as he's failed to tally a single point while registering an ugly minus-6 rating over the first three games of the campaign.

Okposo (illness) is a game-time decision for Thursday's game against San Jose, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
EDGE Analysis
The former Islander woke up feeling under the weather, which caused him to miss the team's morning skate ahead of Thursday's tilt. If Okposo is able to play, he'll be looking to get off the schneid after going scoreless with a minus-6 rating in the first three games of the season, but if he's unable to go, expect Matt Moulson to enter the lineup.

Okposo (illness) penned an open letter Tuesday, thanking everyone for their support and expects to be ready for the start of the season.
EDGE Analysis
"I know I can play again," Okposo writes, opening up about his battle with weight loss, inability to sleep and an adverse reaction to medication that sent him to the intensive care unit at Buffalo General. He missed the final stretch of the season due to his condition, and finished with 19 goals and 45 points in 65 games. Okposo says he's been in touch with new head coach Phil Housley and new general manager Jason Botterill, and reiterated his optimism for the Sabres to win the Stanley Cup. Okposo will certainly play a big role, and will also return to his usual spot on the top line next to Ryan O'Reilly once the season begins. If Okposo plays a full season, he should be able to easily score 20 goals and 50 points.

Okposo (concussion) hit the ice as part of DaBeauty League on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
While it may be just a semi-competitive summer league, the fact that Okposo is playing hockey again should be an encouraging sign for fantasy owners. After spending the end of the 2016-17 campaign in the ICU due to medication complications, the winger appears to be working his way back to game readiness in preparation of training camp. Once given the all clear, the 29-year-old is a near lock to return to the first line as well as the top power-play unit.

General manager Jason Botterill says Okposo (concussion) "should be ready for camp," Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was a scary finish to the season for Okposo, who was sent to intensive care after suffering adverse effects from medication, forcing him to miss the final six games. He finished with 19 goals and 45 points in 65 games in his first season in Buffalo, and also tied a career-high 23 power-play points. The Sabres should be making some big changes after a disappointing and frustrating season, but Okposo's considered one of the team's top players and will likely remain the team's top right winger.

The Sabres expect Okposo to be available at the start of camp, Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Okposo suffered a concussion in late March and experienced adverse effects to medication, which landed him in intensive care. This is great news, although training camp is still many months away. Okposo scored 19 goals and 45 points in 65 games in his first season with Buffalo, and if he reports to camp 100 percent healthy, he'll surely put up similar or better numbers for the 2017-18 season. He's expected to remain the team's top right winger as the team focuses on fixing its defense.

Okposo reportedly suffered a concussion in late March as well as an adverse reaction to medication to treat the injury that landed him in the neurological intensive care unit in a Buffalo hospital, The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
One of the few things scarier than a concussion is a negative reaction to the treatment of it, and that reportedly at one point had Okposo's life and career in some sort of danger. It does appear that whatever the specifics, Okposo is on the road to recovery and the report even states the forward could end up being fine for summer training camp.

The Sabres will not be making any updates on Okposo's illness anytime soon, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
There has been no official statement on what has been ailing Okposo, who was sent to the intensive care unit at Buffalo General Hospital and forced to miss the final six games of the season. Okposo scored 45 points in 65 games in his first year with Buffalo, occupying the right wing slot on the team's top two lines for much of the season. Once healthy, he should be able to return to that role right away. He has six years remaining on his seven-year deal with the Sabres.

Okposo is making strides in his recovery from an undisclosed illness, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
While the nature of the illness has yet to be disclosed, it must have been serious based on how Okposo has been in a Buffalo hospital's neurosurgical intensive care unit for the past five days. All of the unknowns concerning the star winger's health make this a delicate situation bigger than hockey, and you can expect the team to take all of the necessary precautions as he rounds out his recovery. We wish him the best.

Okposo (illness) has been hospitalized and is in intensive care, John Vogl of The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old winger has already been ruled out of Buffalo's final three contests, but Okposo's career as a professional hockey player will now take a back seat as doctors at the Neuro Surgical ICU at Buffalo General Hospital work to determine what has been ailing the American forward since March 28. The Sabres should release another update on Okposo's status in the coming weeks.
