Tim Tebow (ribs) is listed as questionable for Week 14 against the Jaguars. Jets coach Rex Ryan indicated Friday that he might activate all three of his quarterbacks -- Tebow, Greg McElroy, and short-leashed starter Mark Sanchez. It would make sense if he has designs on benching Sanchez if he starts slow. The feeling in New York is that the Jets would turn to McElroy -- not Tebow -- if Sanchez is indeed yanked for the second consecutive game.

Coach Rex Ryan said Tim Tebow (ribs) will be the No. 2 quarterback Sunday if he's healthy.

According to the Daily News, Jets coach Rex Ryan "never seriously considered" starting Tim Tebow against the Jaguars Sunday. Even though Tebow has been listed as the backup all season, the decision here came down to Mark Sanchez or Greg McElroy. We doubt it has much to do with Tebow's sore ribs. The Jets have shown no interest in letting Tebow throw the ball or giving him a chance to start since trading for him way back in March. At this point, the trade looks like nothing more than a publicity stunt. Tebow will undoubtedly be pushing for a ticket out of New York once this season wraps.

Coach Rex Ryan does not believe Tim Tebow (ribs) is "near 100 percent." It sounds like Rex is trying to use Tebow's ribs as an excuse not to give him a start this week. Note that Tebow has been medically cleared and tried to convince Ryan to keep him active for last week's win over the Cardinals. Meanwhile, the Daily News is reporting that owner Woody Johnson wants Greg McElroy to start this week while GM Mike Tannenbaum and OC Tony Sparano want Ryan to go back to Mark Sanchez. We expect an announcement by Wednesday.

The Jets plan to deactivate Tim Tebow in Week 13 in order to let his cracked ribs heal. Perhaps deactivating Tebow and keeping him on the sideline in street clothes will discourage Jets fans from screaming his name during the game in hopes of a Mark Sanchez benching. Or maybe not. Tebow was head-scratchingly active on Thanksgiving despite the fact that the Jets never would have played him.

Coach Rex Ryan said Tim Tebow (ribs) should be available for Week 13. Even though the Jets were down 35-3 at halftime on Thanksgiving, Tebow didn't get in the game. If he's active against the Cardinals this week, he'll likely be mere insurance against a Mark Sanchez injury once again. Ryan has shown no inclination to bench Sanchez yet.

Tim Tebow revealed after Thursday night's loss to the Patriots that he has two fractured ribs. Tebow put in full practices this week, but head coach Rex Ryan said that Tebow's ribs had gotten progressively worse over the past couple of days. It makes sense as to why he didn't play a single snap in Thanksgiving night's rout. Tebow wasn't even being used in his normal punt protector role. He has been on the injury for the past couple of weeks but hasn't missed any sessions. The gimmick quarterback should be fine in a couple of weeks, but it begs the question of why the team even dressed Tebow against New England.

Tim Tebow rushed twice in New York's Week 11 win over the Rams, losing five yards. Tebow's lone "pass attempt" came on a fake punt, which also lost a yard. As per usual, Tebow's usage was completely incoherent, and did nothing to further the Jets' cause on offense. With Mark Sanchez having his best start of the season this afternoon, Tebow will remain the league's most expensive decoy for at least one more week.

Responding to anonymous Jets players ripping Tim Tebow in a New York Daily News article, coach Rex Ryan insisted he's happy Tebow is a Jet, but that "we never brought him on here to be the starting quarterback." "I absolutely wanted Tim here," Ryan claimed. "His hard work is paying off. I think he is improving fundamentally." That must not appear to be the case in practice, as there would otherwise be no reason for the Jets not to turn to Tebow over an embarrassingly bad Mark Sanchez. Playing his worst football since his rookie year in 2009, Sanchez is sporting a 70.4 QB rating, 6.3 YPA, 10:9 TD:INT ratio and 52.0 completion percentage through nine games. If the Jets aren't willing to turn to Tebow now, it's fair to say his acquisition was little more than a publicity stunt that's spectacularly backfired.

A defensive starter tells the Daily News that Tim Tebow is "terrible." Per the report, more than a dozen players and members of the Jets believe Tebow is "simply not very good." The "prevailing thought" is that he's "nothing more than a gimmick." It's exactly what we suspected is going on behind the scenes. If Tebow was showing anything at all in practice, the Jets would have yanked Mark Sanchez by now. "It's not even close," LG Matt Slauson said. "All the other quarterbacks know it. I have all the confidence in Mark. We don't really have a choice." Of course, Tebow's skill set doesn't show well in practice or 7-on-7 drills. If the Jets fall to 3-8, they'll have little to lose by giving him a shot in a game.
