It's an indication that the Jets are losing faith in Mark Sanchez, and for good reason. Don't be surprised if Tebow is given the starting nod sooner rather than later. Action News Jacksonville, a website for two local TV news stations, reports the Jaguars are "making a play" for Tim Tebow prior to Thursday's trade deadline. The site doesn't have a history of breaking Jaguars stories, so take the report with a grain of salt. Owner Shad Khan has publicly stated that he would have "100 percent" drafted Tebow had he been in charge two years ago, and the Jaguars attempted to swoop in and steal the local star from the Jets at the last minute when the Broncos were dangling him in March. Both the New York Daily News and ESPN New York have reported the Jets have no plans to trade Tebow this week.

He rushed for three yards on 3rd-and-2 from the Patriots' four-yard line, earning a first down. With Mark Sanchez throwing for a season-high 328 yards this afternoon, Tebow's role should remain limited against the Dolphins in Week 8.

"Several team sources" tell ESPN New York they "didn't see" Tim Tebow take reps at running back this week. Tebow hinted Friday the Jets aren't planning to have him line up in the backfield. "I practiced, carrying the ball a few times," Tebow said. "If running back is carrying the ball, then sure." Our guess is that Tebow will be in for an uptick in carries against the Patriots, but that most, if not all, of them will come from his usual formation. Tebow isn't a viable Week 7 fantasy option.
