Tim Tebow will be inactive for Sunday's Week 16 game against the Chargers.
Mark Sanchez will serve as the No. 2 quarterback behind starter Greg McElroy. We wouldn't be surprised if Sanchez saw some snaps on Sunday. Tebow will certainly be donning a different uniform in 2013.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Saturday that it's "a virtual certainty" Tim Tebow will play for the Jaguars in 2013.
After trying to trade for him in the offseason, Mortensen says Jaguars owner Shad Khan still wants Tebow, and the expectation is that Jacksonvile will have an "open competition" at the quarterback position next year with Tebow, Blaine Gabbert, and Chad Henne. Multiple reports have confirmed that the Jets plan to part ways with Tebow after the season, but it's not clear if they'll attempt to trade him or give him his outright release. If Tebow has any chance to resurrect his career as a starting quarterback, it will be in Jacksonville. The Jets can release him with a "minimal" cap hit if they decide to grant him his walking papers.

According to the New York Post, the Jets were "shocked" at how poorly Tim Tebow played in practices soon after the team traded for him.
A source tells the Post that coach Rex Ryan and OC Tony Sparano "had no idea" how to use Tebow once it became evident that Greg McElroy was improving at a greater rate. The organization was reportedly "frozen with fear" over the Tebowmania factor, concerned that the controversy would wreak havoc with Mark Sanchez's psyche. The Jets bungled every aspect of the Tebow acquisition.

Sources tell ESPN New York that the Jets do plan to part ways with Tim Tebow after the season.
The Jets have held Tebow hostage all season, but they won't stand in his way this offseason. If they can't trade their third-string quarterback that played 70 offensive snaps all year, he's expected to be granted his release. Tebow finally let his guard down a little this week as he spoke in the past tense about his confusing year in New York. "All you can ask for, all you want is a chance -- a chance to go out and play the game you love and help this team win football games," he said. "That's all I wanted. I tried to make the most of every opportunity I had. I would've loved to have had more."

According to the New York Daily News, Tim Tebow will request a trade at the end of the season after being passed over by Greg McElroy on the depth chart.
NFL Network had previously reported Tebow "could" request a trade. A source tells reporter Manish Mehta Tebow's desire to leave the Big Apple "came to a head" when McElroy was announced as Mark Sanchez's replacement on Tuesday. Tebow has yet to comment publicly on the situation. Although Tebow's reported wishes are certainly understandable, it's doubtful he'll draw interest as a starter. According to Mehta, the Jets can release Tebow with a "minimal" cap hit if they choose to grant him his walking papers outright instead of trading him. He's currently scheduled to earn $2.6 million in 2013. A Shakespeare or William Faulkner enthusiast might say the Tebow era in New York has been full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

NFL Network's Albert Breer suggests Tim Tebow could ask for his release or a trade this offseason after being bypassed by Greg McElroy for the Jets starting job.
A source close to Tebow said the Jets' decision is "still too fresh" for the quarterback to digest. Another source close to Tebow considers it "highly unlikely" that he will "sit idle beyond this season" following Tuesday's move to McElroy. Tebow's $2.6 million salary for the 2013 season is prohibitive enough that the Jets would likely consider releasing him regardless. In addition to the Jets and Jaguars, the Rams were reportedly interested in Tebow last March.

Tim Tebow reportedly feels "misled" by the Jets after they bypassed him to give the Week 16 starting job to Greg McElroy.
When the Jets traded for him, Tebow was promised that he would get a shot to play if Mark Sanchez was injured and/or ineffective. In fact, it was reported last March that Tebow chose the Jets over the Jags because he saw a clearer path to the starting job in New York. He's not the type to make waves publicly, so expect Tebow to continue to play the "good soldier" role. The Jets' trade for Tebow makes less sense with each passing week.

Tim Tebow played one offensive series and went 0-for-1 passing while adding 15 yards on three carries in Week 15 against the Titans.
Tebow was under center for the third offensive series of the game, and apparently, it was predetermined that he would enter on the third series before the game even started. Tebow had a couple of nice runs to open up the drive, but it went downhill fast after that. His pass attempt was just a throw-away on third-and-forever. Tebow could find himself as the starting quarterback in Week 16 against the Chargers, but head coach Rex Ryan has yet to determine who will start after Mark Sanchez's horrendous Monday night outing. Greg McElroy will be in the conversation, too.

Tim Tebow (ribs) is active and will be the No. 2 quarterback versus the Jaguars in Week 14, while Greg McElroy is a healthy inactive.
Tebow was listed as questionable, but he'll back up Mark Sanchez. The Jets also declared WRs Jordan White and Clyde Gates, OLB Ricky Sapp, TE Dustin Keller, NT Damon Harrison, and OL Caleb Sclauderaff inactive for Sunday. Keller was ruled out on Saturday with an ankle injury.

Tim Tebow (ribs) is listed as questionable for Week 14 against the Jaguars.
Jets coach Rex Ryan indicated Friday that he might activate all three of his quarterbacks -- Tebow, Greg McElroy, and short-leashed starter Mark Sanchez. It would make sense if he has designs on benching Sanchez if he starts slow. The feeling in New York is that the Jets would turn to McElroy -- not Tebow -- if Sanchez is indeed yanked for the second consecutive game.
