Owner Woody Johnson insists the Jets are "looking at all possibilities" with Tim Tebow. "We'll see what the offseason (brings)," Johnson said Sunday. It's confounding why Tebow still remains a member of Gang Green, but even harder to picture him remaining so much longer. Coach Rex Ryan made it clear last year he didn't trust Tebow to push Mark Sanchez, and the Jets can't afford his $2.6 million salary. They're taking their sweet time doing it, but the Jets are going to make the right move and cut Tebow loose.

The Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League have a "contract waiting for" Tim Tebow to sign if he can't find a job in the NFL. "We'd love to have him," Predators owner Brett Bouchy said. "I think he would definitely improve as a quarterback in our league. ... Whenever Tim is willing, we have a contract waiting for him to sign." For now, Tebow remains with the Jets, but he shouldn't last much longer in New York.

New Jets OC Marty Mornhinweg says Tim Tebow will be "taking reps at quarterback." The suffering season is back upon Jets fans. "The man can play football," Mornhinweg said, in a factually correct statement. "So how do you utilize him will certainly be the key. ... The gut instincts are real important - and he certainly has that." Why Tebow is even still on the Jets roster remains a mystery, but they are going to treat him as a quarterback while he's still there. It's doubtful anyone else will, however, meaning Tebow should be released once all trade options are exhausted. Tebow's NFL future is bleak, but it would be nonexistent if he somehow stayed in New York.

ESPN New York confirms that the Jets are still shopping Tim Tebow. No one is buying what the Jets are selling. Once all trade avenues are exhausted, they'll release Tebow and he'll go hunting for his third team in four seasons. One personnel director speculated to ESPN New York that the Niners could be a landing spot as they're looking for a mobile backup to Colin Kaepernick. We'd suggest a trip to the CFL is more likely.

ESPN analyst and ex-Colts GM Bill Polian says Tim Tebow "needs to change his position." "He has to put quarterback behind him," said Polian. "He's a good football player, but he's not a quarterback you can hang your hat on. I don't think he's a passer, period -- the kind of passer you have to have to win in the NFL." Polian suggests a move to running back or tight end. ESPN New York says it's unlikely Tebow will be traded, therefore he'll be released at the start of the new league year.

Tim Tebow's agent hasn't spoken with the Jets since the end of the season. The sides really don't have much to talk about, as Tebow's trade value is nil, making it likely he'll be released before the start of free agency. The Jets can save $1 million in cap space by parting ways with P Robert Malone's personal protector.

The Jets can save just over $1 million in cap space by releasing Tim Tebow before the start of the new league year. The cap-strapped Jets can use every penny. Tebow's base salary is $2,586,875, a sum the club obviously won't pay. After the Jets discover Tebow has zero trade value at the Combine, look for his release around the first week of March.

Coach Rex Ryan was noncommittal on Tim Tebow's future with the team. "Tim is under contract to be a New York Jet," Ryan said. "We will see how things go in the offseason." The Jets are expected to try and shop Tebow at the Scouting Combine this week, but they're not going to find any takers. The Jaguars have already ruled Tebow out, as have the Chargers with Tebow's former OC Mike McCoy as head coach. He'll be released in due time.

ESPN's Adam Schefter says the Jets will try to trade Tim Tebow before releasing him. Unfortunately for the Jets, there isn't expected to be much interest. One GM told Schefter that he thinks Tebow's "career is over without playing another position." The one team that had previously been interested, the Jaguars, are no longer interested. The new league year opens on March 12, so Tebow is expected to remain a Jet until then. He played just 73 offensive snaps in 2012.
