He went for elbow X-rays after the game, but appeared no worse for the wear down the stretch. The "real" Schaub lies somewhere in between his Week 2 and 3 performances, but it's clear he'll remain a perfectly fine fill-in option in two-QB leagues.

In a worst case scenario, the Texans could slap Schaub with the franchise tag next year.

It's unclear if the Texans will try to get something done before Week 1 or if they'll make him sustain a full season of health. "That stuff, if we take care of our business, get our job done, things will take care of themselves," Schaub said. "But I love the city of Houston and want to be here for many years to come."
