Texans coach Gary Kubiak gave Matt Schaub a vote of confidence at Monday's season-ending press conference.

Matt Schaub completed 34-of-51 passes for 343 yards, two touchdowns, and one interceptions in Sunday's Divsional round loss at New England. The boxscore couldn't be more misleading. Hankering for a rematch after the debacle at Foxborough six weeks ago, Schaub fell flat on his face for three quarters. Too often throwing short of the sticks or out of bounds, a hesitant Schaub struggled to pick up third downs or move the offense consistently. Not until the Patriots went into prevent mode up 38-13 in the fourth quarter did Schaub finally find the end zone, tossing just his fifth and sixth touchdowns of the past eight games. He clearly regressed down the stretch, showing that he can't stand toe-to-toe with the game's best signal-callers.

Matt Schaub has managed a 7.15 yards-per-attempt average and 1:4 TD-to-INT ratio since the Texans' Week 14 loss to the Patriots. Houston was dismantled 42-14 on the Week 14 Monday nighter, and Schaub hasn't been the same in the five games since. His TD-to-INT ratio before Week 14 was 21:9 over the first 12 games of the season. Matt Schaub completed 29-of-38 passes for 262 yards and an interception as the Texans held off the Bengals in the Wild Card Round. Schaub's lone box-score mistake came midway through the second quarter, when Bengals RCB Leon Hall jumped a checkdown route intended for James Casey and returned it to the house for a 21-yard pick six. It was actually a sensational display of ball skills by Hall. More egregious by Schaub was a poorly-placed third-and-goal pass intended for Andre Johnson at the end of the second half that should've gone for an easy touchdown. The Texans will head to the Divisional Round with a still-struggling quarterback.

Matt Schaub completed 24-of-36 passes for 256 yards with two inceptions in Sunday's Week 17 loss to the Colts. Schaub was held without a touchdown and was forced to lock-on to Andre Johnson with Owen Daniels (hamstring) at less than 100 percent. Both of his interceptions went to Vontae Davis, and he struggled with his effectiveness despite completing a high percentage of passes. The Texans failed to secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs, but can still get a first round bye with a Denver or New England loss.

Matt Schaub completed 18-of-32 passes for 178 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Texans' Week 16 loss to the Vikings. Credit the Vikings' defense. Not only did they completely bottle up Adrian Peterson, but they didn't let the Texans' tight ends get free. It left Schaub flustered and peppering Andre Johnson with short targets. He didn't even come back out for the Texans' final drive as they trailed 23-6 with four minutes left. Schaub will now have to play a full game in Week 17 as the Texans need to win at Indy to clinch home-field advantage.

Matt Schaub completed 23-of-31 passes for 261 yards and a touchdown as the Texans downed the Colts in Week 15. Schaub was efficient and targeted Andre Johnson heavily, which translated to success for Houston's offense, if not specifically for Schaub's box-score production. The Texans are the NFL's run-heaviest offense, and that's why there's a weekly lid on Schaub's fantasy upside, even if he's capable of racking up yards and TDs if game flow calls for it any given week. Schaub will be a high-end QB2 when the Texans host the Vikings in Week 16.

Matt Schaub completed 19-of-32 passes for 232 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception in the Texans' Week 14 loss to the Patriots on Monday night. Schaub and the Houston offense struggled right out of the chute, and Schaub wasn't his normal accurate self in the aerial attack. He missed several throws that could have picked up big chunks of yards. Schaub only showed some resemblance of chemistry with the ultra-reliable Andre Johnson, but that was about it. The quarterback was yanked with about seven minutes to go and was replaced by T.J. Yates with the Texans down 42-7. Yates later scored on a QB sneak. Schaub and the 11-2 Texans will head home to host the 9-4 Colts in Week 15.

Matt Schaub completed 21-of-35 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns in Houston's Week 13, 24-10 win over the Titans on Sunday.

Matt Schaub completed 26-of-48 passes for 315 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Texans' Week 12 overtime win over the Lions. For the second straight week, the Texans found themselves in comeback mode and actually needed Schaub to produce through the air. He came through again. After not throwing for more than 300 yards in any of the first nine games of the year, he's totaled an insane 842 in the last two. Still, these were unique situations. Expect the Texans to get a lead on the Titans in Week 13, leaving Schaub as a QB2 only.
