Alonso left Tuesday's game with a right forearm strain, the Union Tribune's Dennis Lin reports.
He left early in the game, possibly suffering the injury during his first at-bat, and was replaced at first base by Tommy Medica. He's considered day-to-day for now, but he could wind up needing a DL stint.

Alonso has cobbled together a .429/.467/.750 line with one home run, one triple, and four doubles in 28 at-bats since his activation from the DL on July 26.
After missing more then a month due to right wrist soreness, Alonso has managed a hit in seven of 10 appearances. On the other hand, he's been held to the pine against both left-handed starters, as well as one righty, during that 11-game stretch, which forecasts his usage going forward. As long as he's hitting, though, he should be utilized in numerous formats.

Alonso was basically the only offense for the Padres Tuesday, as he went 3-for-4 at the plate while hitting his sixth home run of the year and adding a double in the Padres' 3-1 loss to the Twins.
Although he had a fine performance Tuesday, it has been another rough season for Alonso, as he has battled injuries and consistency all year. Alonso now owns a pedestrian .225/.267/.372 slash line in 253 at-bats this year.

Padres activated 1B Yonder Alonso from the 15-day disabled list.
Alonso had been on the shelf since the middle of June with tendinitis in his right wrist. Hand and wrist injuries have been known to sap hitters of their home run power, so don't expect Alonso to leave the yard much now that he's back with the Padres.

Padres placed 1B Yonder Alonso on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 17, with right wrist tendinitis.
It's not believed to be a major injury and Alonso is hoping to return as soon as his 15-day stint is over. But it's safe to wonder whether he'll have a starting job when he returns to full health. The 27-year-old owns a .210/.250/.341 batting line in 69 games this season -- pitiful numbers for a first baseman.

Yonder Alonso is expected to land on the 15-day disabled list with a sore right wrist.
Alonso has been out since Monday with the wrist soreness and the Padres aren't seeing enough progress. Jake Goebbert will likely be called up in a corresponding move. Alonso, 27, is batting just .210/.250/.341 with five homers and 22 RBI in 69 games this season.

Yonder Alonso hit a game-tying homer off Rafael Soriano in the ninth and walked in the 11th inning rally Saturday in the win over the Nationals.
Alonso still isn't hitting for average -- he's at .213 right now -- but he has hit five homers since May 15 after going the first month and a half without one. It's been enough to keep him in the lineup anyway.

Yonder Alonso went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer Friday against the White Sox.
Alonso also stole a base, his fifth of the season. The 27-year-old has had a really tough time getting it going this year, but he has showed some signs of life recently by hitting .429 (9-for-21) with three home runs over his last seven games.
