Padres placed 1B Yonder Alonso on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 17, with right wrist tendinitis. It's not believed to be a major injury and Alonso is hoping to return as soon as his 15-day stint is over. But it's safe to wonder whether he'll have a starting job when he returns to full health. The 27-year-old owns a .210/.250/.341 batting line in 69 games this season -- pitiful numbers for a first baseman.
