Chen (soreness) will start Saturday's game against the Rays, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
Chen's Thursday side session apparently went well, as it was previously uncertain whether he'd make his scheduled start. While owners may still want to check back before Saturday, there was never any indication that the general soreness is a serious issue.

Chen is dealing with some soreness and is in jeopardy of missing his scheduled start Saturday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
He is tentatively scheduled to start Saturday, but as of Thursday the Orioles are listing Saturday's starter as TBA, which means they are still evaluating whether Chen will indeed be able to take the mound. He has a side session Thursday so more information about his status could be available later in the day.

Chen allowed three runs on 11 hits and struck out six in five innings, but did not figure in the decision against the Astros Monday.
The 11 hits allowed were a season high for Chen. He has 10 strikeouts and no walks in his last two games, but Chen has also allowed 19 hits in those 12 innings. After picking up 16 wins in 2014, Chen has just one win nearly two months into the season.

Chen (1-3) gave up four runs on eight hits in Wednesday's loss to Seattle. He struck out four and didn't issue a walk.
Chen had a quality start going into his final inning of work, but gave up a Chris Taylor triple to drive in that fourth run and break his streak of four consecutive outings featuring at least six innings and two or fewer runs. Chen has been a surprising rotation asset for the Orioles and fantasy owners, and though you can't count on him to maintain his elite ratios, owners in a wide variety of leagues should feel comfortable rolling him out. He'll next draw the visiting Astros on Monday.

Chen allowed two runs on five hits, walking two and striking out seven over seven innings of a loss against the Angels on Friday night.
It was another hard-luck loss for Chen (1-2, 2.53 ERA) who has just one win to show in seven outings despite five of them being quality starts. Baltimore's offense is bound to provide him with some support, and his 34:14 K:BB in 42.2 innings suggests he can continue to pitch effectively.

Chen picked up his first win of the season Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over seven innings, striking out seven.
He's got a sharp 2.52 ERA and 27:12 K:BB ratio through six starts and 35.2 innings, and Chen's fourth quality start of the season was finally rewarded with a win. His next turn in the rotation comes Friday at home against the Angels.

Chen struck out three and walked five while allowing five unearned runs on three hits over 4.1 innings Monday against Boston.
While the left-hander took the loss, a trio of errors kept all of the runs he allowed Monday from counting against his ERA. Chen had uncharacteristically poor control Monday, while wet conditions at Fenway Park ultimately ended the game after seven innings. Chen will make his next start Saturday at Camden Yards in a rematch with Boston.

Chen ended up with a no-decision Monday, allowing two runs in six innings of work against the Yankees.
The lefty was tagged for two solo home runs, but allowed just three baserunners beyond those two blasts. The start was a reassuring change after lasting just 4.1 innings in his first start of the season. Chen will try to earn his first win of the season when he faces the Red Sox this weekend.

Chen couldn't get out of the fifth inning Tuesday, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks in 4.1 innings against the Rays.
The veteran southpaw just wasn't very efficient with his pitches in his first outing of the season. He ran up his pitch count to 96 (62 strikes) without finishing the fifth inning, which is particularly disappointing because he would have ended up with a win had him simply gone five innings. He will have time to recover from the stressful first start, as he does not take the ball again until Monday at home against the Yankees.

Chen allowed two runs in five innings in his final start of the spring Thursday.
Chen struck out four and had no walks while throwing 68 pitches. He may not be fully stretched out, so a pitch count could be in play during his first start of the season. Chen is slated to start April 7 against Tampa Bay.
