Chen has been officially recalled from High-A Frederick to start Friday against the Indians, Rich Dubroff of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports. Chen was dealing with some "general fatigue," but expressed his displeasure indicating he was fine when the club optioned He will rejoin the team Friday, however, and will face a relatively heavy left-handed lineup.

Chen will be recalled from High-A Fredrick to start against the Indians on Friday night, MASN Sports reports. The Orioles optioned Chen to High-A after an excellent start against the Phillies on June 15 due to general fatigue. For the season, he's turned in his best overall results as a member of the Orioles, with a 71:19 K:BB, 2.89 ERA, and 1.12 WHIP over 13 starts.

Chen will start for the Orioles on Thursday against the Phillies, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports. Chen has been dealing with some general fatigue, but the Orioles are optimistic he'll be able to return by late next week. If the target date stands, he'll take on a light-hitting Phillies team that ranks dead last in the majors in runs scored. The last time Chen saw the Phillies, he threw eight scoreless innings and matched a season-best with nine strikeouts.

The Orioles are taking advantage of the options remaining on Chen's contract to free up an extra spot on the roster while the lefty rests. The team's decision not to place Chen on the disabled list suggests this is mostly just a case of general fatigue.

Chen was masterful Monday, shutting out the Phillies over eight innings to win his third game of the season. Chen allowed just four hits and struck out nine in what was likely his best start of the season. The Taiwan native has been phenomenal this season, registering a pristine 2.89 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. His next start will come this weekend against the Blue Jays.

Chen (2-4) needed 91 pitches to get through five innings Wednesday against Boston, but picked up the win after allowing two runs on seven hits. He struck out five and walked one. Despite delivering more-than-credible starting work for an Orioles team that's hovering around .500, this was only Chen's second win in 13 starts this season, as the team's tended to go silent on offense whenever the Korean lefty's on the mound. Not so Wednesday, as they posted five runs in support of Chen, helping him to the victory despite a rather inefficient outing. He'll draw the visiting Phillies on Monday.

Chen struck out a season-high nine and allowed just two runs on five hits over 5.1 innings Thursday, but received no decision in an eventual win over the Astros. He's not the most exciting, but Chen has been a reliable starter for the Orioles and fantasy owners following a bit of an uneven start this year, as he's delivered quality starts in six of his last eight games and has been a ratios contributor. Chen will next get the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Chen took the loss Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings, striking out four. It was a solid effort from Chen, but he was outdueled by Erasmo Ramirez. It's his fifth quality start in his last seven outings, but Chen could have a hard time making it six in eight when he takes the mound on Thursday in Houston.

Chen (soreness) is indeed starting Saturday against the Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASN reports. This is mostly just a confirmation of what had been previously reported, as it was unlikely that soreness would prevent Chen from seeing the mound.
