Chen was recalled from the rookie-level GCL Orioles to make the start Sunday against the Twins, Rich Dubroff of CSNBaltimore.com reports. Chen's deployment to the GCL was just a paper move to give the team an extra player for depth purposes in between the lefty's starts. The Orioles' rotation remains somewhat in flux heading into a probable postseason berth, but Chen looks like he's locked into a starting spot given his respectable 3.76 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 109:28 K:BB ratio over 148.1 innings.

Chen has rejoined the Orioles and will start Sunday against the Twins, CSNBaltimore.com reports. The Orioles have yet to actually make a roster move to activate Chen, but manager Buck Showalter confirmed that the lefty will return to oppose Ricky Nolaso on Sunday. Chen was optioned to the Gulf Coast League after his last start, with the team needing to add a hitter to the active roster.

Chen was optioned to the Gulf Coast Orioles on Wednesday. The move is procedural in order to ensure an additional hitter to the 25-man roster. Expect Chen to make his next scheduled start Sunday against the Twins.

Chen ended with a no-decision Tuesday, surrendering two earned runs on seven hits in 4.2 innings against the Rays. He also walked three and didn't strike anyone out. The Orioles eventually came away with the win, despite the fact that this was Chen's shortest outings since June 28 when he was bounced in the fourth inning by the same Rays squad. He'll look to further improve upon his impressive 13-4 record, as well as his 1.25 WHIP and 3.76 ERA when the O's host the Twins on Sunday.

Chen (13-4) gave up three runs on six hits with a walk and seven strikeouts Wednesday in a 4-3 victory over the White Sox. Chen was powered by a Baltimore offense that hit three home runs Wednesday. The left-hander is now 6-1 dating back to July 3 and has allowed more than three runs only once over that span of eight starts. Chen will toe the rubber Tuesday versus the Rays.

Chen will start on normal rest Wednesday despite Baltimore's preference to give him extra rest, MASN Sports reports. The Orioles just moved Ubaldo Jimenez out of the rotation and the extra rest thing is out the door unless Baltimore gets an off day. Extra rest appears to have been good for Chen as he has allowed one run or less in three of his last four starts.

Chen held the Indians to one run in seven innings with six strikeouts, but ended up with a no-decision Friday. Chen has allowed one run or less in three of his last four starts and he continues to be a quality start machine for the Orioles. He was pitching on three days extra rest because of a rain out during his last scheduled start Tuesday.

Chen will make his next start Friday against the Indians, MLB.com reports. After his scheduled start Tuesday was rained out, Chen will wait a few more days until taking the hill. The O's will send Chris Tillman to the mound Wednesday, while Ubaldo Jimenez and Kevin Gausman will pitch Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Baltimore is off Thursday. In his last start, Chen allowed eight hits and four earned runs over 5.0 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays.

Chen's scheduled start Tuesday versus the Yankees has been postponed due to a rainout, Marly Rivera of ESPN Deportes reports. Instead of fitting in a doubleheader Wednesday, the divisional rivals will delay the twin bill to Sept. 12, Eric Boland of Newsday reports. It's unclear if Chen will be skipped or push Tillman back in the rotation, but Chen boasts a 2.84 ERA, 1.105 WHIP, and 7.46 K/9 in 25.1 innings (four nods) since the break.
