Chen (elbow) did not factor into the decision in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Braves, surrendering four hits, two earned runs and a walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old pitched well against a rather anemic Braves lineup, and did not show any ill effects from the sore elbow that had plagued him in his first appearance of the season. He was also able to stay away from the long ball completely, an issue that's plagued him throughout the course of his career. Chen's decision to play for a team with a pitcher's park could well prove to be a prudent one, and this seemed to bear out in his first home outing with his new ballclub.

Chen (elbow) has been confirmed as the starting pitcher for Friday's game against the Braves, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro.
EDGE Analysis
Chen had his last start skipped due to soreness in his elbow, but he will get back on the bump Friday night. He will square off against a Braves team that sits 14th in the NL in runs, but he could be a bit rusty having not pitched in 10 days, and will go up against a lineup loaded with right-handed hitters.

Chen's next start will likely be pushed back to Friday so that he can fully rest his sore elbow, the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Chen was initially slated to start Monday against the Mets, then manager Don Mattingly said before Sunday's game that it would be Wednesday. But after the game, he then said it would be Friday, with Adam Conley starting Wednesday.

Chen remains on course to make his start Monday against the Mets at Citi Field, but that is subject to change depending on how his throwing arm feels after taking a comebacker off his left elbow in his first start of the season, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.
EDGE Analysis
He received a scare in the second inning of Tuesday's game after taking the comeback liner off his pitching elbow, but he stayed in to work five total innings, giving up five runs in the process. On Wednesday he said he is just dealing with normal soreness, but more will be known about his status after he plays catch on Thursday. Owners should anticipate Chen taking the mound Monday, but it's a situation worth monitoring in the coming days.

Chen will receive the start for the Marlins in their April 5 opener against the Tigers, Shandel Richardson of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though Jose Fernandez is unquestionably the ace of the Marlins' staff, the team has a plan in place to limit the 23-year-old's innings this season after he endured a few setbacks in 2015 following his mid-season return from Tommy John surgery. As a result, Chen will get the ball first for the Marlins, marking the first time the 30-year-old has served as an Opening Day starter. He put together a 3.34 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over 191.1 innings with the Orioles last season, and seems like a good bet to improve those numbers while moving from one of baseball's strongest divisions to arguably its worst.

Chen struggled through four innings against the Nationals on Wednesday, giving up four earned runs on seven hits.
EDGE Analysis
Chen reached an agreement with the Marlins in January, totaling $80 million during five years with the team, including an option for a sixth year. In his four seasons with the Orioles, Chen posted a 3.72 ERA along with an opposing batting average of .262. The 30-year-old appears to be the number two starter behind Jose Fernandez and will look to benefit from Marlins Park due to his issues with the long ball.

Chen and the Marlins have reached agreement on a five-year, $80 million contract that includes a sixth-year vesting option, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to ESPN's Buster Olney, the sixth-year option is based on innings pitched, and the contract also includes an opt-out after the second year. The 30-year-old Chen should enjoy a move from the American League to the National League, not to mention a move from Camden Yards to Marlins Park, which takes on added importance because of his fly-ball tendency.

Chen declined the Orioles' qualifying offer and remains a free agent, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
EDGE Analysis
He is seeking a multi-year deal after posting career-best marks in ERA and WHIP over 191.1 innings in 2015. Despite a sub-40 percent groundball rate and a middling strikeout rate, Chen has been a two-plus WAR pitcher in each of his first four seasons, and the lefty has been able to remain mostly healthy to this point.

Chen was extended a qualifying offer by the Orioles on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The move doesn't come as much of a surprise, as Chen posted another strong season in 2015, working to a 3.34 ERA with 153 strikeouts to just 41 walks in 191.1 innings, about on line with his 2014 output. The lefty turned 30 during the season, but is expected to command a multi-year deal on the open market.

Chen picked up his 11th win of the season in Game 1 of Saturday's double-header against the Yankees, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over six innings while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
He wraps up the season with three wins and three quality starts in his last four outings, and Chen will go into the books with a 3.34 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over 191.1 innings in 2015, numbers right in line with last year.
