Chen was optioned to High-A Frederick on Tuesday Chen has options remaining on his contract, and the Orioles want to free up an extra roster spot for the next few days, presumably to delay making a decision about which outfielders they'll keep on the roster. Chen's having a fantastic season, and he'll be back with the Orioles for Saturday's start against the Blue Jays.
