Wandy Rodriguez spun seven innings of one-run ball in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Brewers.
Rodriguez gave up just six hits, walked one and struck out five, with the lone blemish coming in the form of a Rickie Weeks solo homer in the seventh. That makes two straight one-run showings and three straight quality starts for the left-hander. Wandy will bring a quality 3.25 ERA and 1.06 WHIP into next week's start against the Cubs.

Wandy Rodriguez was handed his first loss Monday after allowing seven runs in 3 2/3 innings against the Brewers.
Rodriguez has always had a tough time in Miller Park; he entered with a 5.88 ERA in 12 career starts there. It's his worst park as far as giving up homers, and he surrendered three more long balls tonight, with Jean Seguro, Yovani Gallardo and Norichika Aoki all taking him deep. Rodriguez should be better next time out against the Nationals.

Wandy Rodriguez allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision Wednesday as the Pirates beat the Phillies.
It was Wandy's worst start of the season, but it could have been a lot worse. Wandy scattered nine hits and two walks in his 5 2/3 innings, striking out five. He's been really good in the early part of the season, so Wednesday was likely nothing more than an off night. He'll look to get back on track Monday against the Brewers.

Rodriguez racked up five strikeouts without walking a batter in the game. The only blemish on his night was a harmless single off the bat of Jason Heyward. He's been excellent to this point of the season, compiling a 0.56 ERA, 0.38 WHIP and 11/1 K/BB ratio through 16 innings. He'll attempt to keep things rolling when he does battle against the Phillies in Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Rodriguez left an outing last week and was scratched from Sunday's start due to a strained left hamstring. He's feeling better, though, as Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said the southpaw "seems to be moving in a good direction" to return on Friday.

Wandy Rodriguez (hamstring) has been scratched from his start Sunday against the Reds.
Rodriguez made an early exit from his start on Monday with a strained left hamstring, so Pirates decided to play it safe and call up a replacement from the minors. For now, it sounds like Rodriguez will avoid the disabled list. Phil Irwin will be recalled to take his spot in the starting rotation.

Pirates' general manager Neal Huntington said Friday that Wandy Rodriguez's hamstring is improving, but that he's still questionable to make his next scheduled start on Sunday.
Rodriguez left Monday's start in the third inning and was later diagnosed with a left hamstring strain. In the event he's unable to make the start, the Pirates will have to rely on one of their minor league arms to fill the void, perhaps Kyle McPherson.
