Tyler Skaggs yielded four runs in seven innings Friday in a no-decision against the Mets.
It wasn't technically a quality start, but it kind of was. Skaggs went the night without walking a single batter, which was encouraging. He also retired 11 of the final 13 Mets he faced. At one point, he got five straight hitters to ground out. We'd take away more good than bad from this one.

Pedro Moura of the Orange County Register reports that Tyler Skaggs' fastball "reached 95 mph several times" in his start Saturday.
Moura notes that of the 521 fastballs Skaggs has thrown in the majors, none of them have clocked higher than 93 mph. His heater dropped to around 89 mph last season when the D'Backs changed his mechanics, but Skaggs has gone back to his old delivery and is seeing his velocity spike. "This is the hardest I've thrown in a long time," Skaggs said. He's a nice late-round option for fantasy owners.

Tyler Skaggs allowed two runs while striking out six over 3 2/3 innings in Saturday's win over the Dodgers.
Making his last start of the spring, Skaggs showed a glimpse of why the Angels parted with Mark Trumbo to acquire the left-hander this winter. Skaggs did need 97 pitches to get through his 3 2/3 innings -- the five hits and two walks allowed, along with his six K's, didn't help -- but in all it was a positive performance for the 22-year-old. Skaggs' first regular season start with his new club should come next week.

Tyler Skaggs allowed two runs (one earned) in 5 1/3 innings during Monday's start against the Giants.
Skaggs allowed seven hits and walked three while striking out two. Not exactly the sharpest performance. His Cactus League ERA deflates to 4.95 and the lefty now sports a 13-to-10 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 20 spring innings.

Tyler Skaggs had a rough day against the White Sox, allowing five runs in 4 1/3 innings during Wednesday's start.
Skaggs allowed seven hits and walked three while striking out two. Four of the eight hits went for extra bases, including a third-inning two-run home run by Jose Abreu. Skaggs hasn't had great results in the Cactus League lately, but he should still wind up at the back of the Angels' rotation.

Tyler Skaggs turned in his roughest start of the Cactus League season in Friday's loss to the Padres, giving up three runs on eight hits over his four innings.
Skaggs punched out four without walking a batter on the afternoon. Even with the rough outing, he's still shown enough this spring to where he should open the season in the back of the Angels rotation. His strikeout potential hints at mixed league value, but he may be best used as a matchup play in the early going due to his inconsistency.

Tyler Skaggs was clocked at 92-94 mph during his start Friday.
It's notable after he averaged just 89 mph during his time with the D'Backs last season. Arizona tinkered with Skaggs' delivery last year, but the lefty has gone back to his old delivery and appears to have rediscovered the pep on his heater. The left-hander has sleeper potential with the Angels.

Tyler Skaggs was impressive in Sunday's victory over the Reds, allowing just one hit only four shutout innings.
The 22-year-old southpaw walked two and punched out three in the ballgame. He's expected to be part of a new-look Angels rotation this year, and offers intriguing upside in the later rounds of fantasy drafts with his ability to miss bats.

Tyler Skaggs surrendered two runs in 2 1/3 innings as the Angels defeated the Rangers 7-4.
Skaggs recorded two clean innings but ran into trouble in the third inning. He gave up two singles and two walks before he was lifted from the game. He should be at the back of the rotation when the regular season starts, but nothing is guaranteed yet.

Angels acquired LHP Tyler Skaggs and LHP Hector Santiago in a three-team trade with the White Sox and Diamondbacks.
Anaheim set its sights on Skaggs when the Mark Trumbo trade talks began and a three-team negotiation allowed for the acquisition. Skaggs saw a dip in velocity in 2013 and the results weren't pretty, but a year ago he was considered one of the top pitching prospects in baseball and a move out of Arizona could be exactly what the 22-year-old left-hander needed. He should be in the Angels' Opening Day rotation and has the potential to carry considerable fantasy value.
