Travis d'Arnaud could be called to the majors soon.
John Buck is expected to hit the paternity leave list at any moment to be with his wife in labor, and it's highly possible that d'Arnaud is going to be the Mets' fill-in. The young top catching prospect has been idle for much of this season because of a broken foot. He was cleared to begin playing in games again last week.

Travis d'Arnaud (foot) went 1-for-3 on Wednesday in his first game with the GCL Mets.
D'Arnaud, who is working his way back from a broken bone in his foot, also played five innings behind the plate. It's been a long road back for the young backstop, but he still has a chance to join the Mets before the end of the season.

Travis d'Arnaud (foot) is scheduled for a follow-up with a team doctor Monday, after which he could be cleared to begin playing minor league games.
D'Arnaud has been out of action since April due to a broken bone in his left foot. While his recovery has gone a little slower than initially expected, he has made significant progress over the past couple of weeks. The Mets will want him to play a bunch of games in the minors after missing so much time, but a September call-up is likely if he can stay healthy.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Friday that Travis d'Arnaud (foot) is doing "everything except playing."
D'Arnaud is still trying to make it back from a foot fracture suffered back in April. While he has experienced some discomfort while running, it appears that he is slowly making progress. "He's hitting. He's throwing," said Collins. "He's catching in the pens. He's doing everything except playing right now." D'Arnaud likely would have made his major league debut by now if he was healthy, but now a September call-up is the most likely scenario.

Travis d'Arnaud (foot) is still not running at full intensity.
D'Arnaud has experienced some "discomfort" since resuming running on flat ground, but the Mets aren't alarmed. The 24-year-old backstop will be handled with care, so a September call-up might be the best-case scenario at this point.

Travis d'Arnaud experienced some lingering foot discomfort while running on flat ground this weekend.
But it's not enough pain to completely derail his rehab program. The 24-year-old catching prospect has been on the shelf since April 17 with a fractured left foot and the Mets will continue to take it slowly with him.
