Travis d'Arnaud went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, but the Mets lost to the Rockies on Thursday.
d'Arnaud crushed a Chad Bettis offering in the top of the ninth inning, halving the Mets' deficit to bring the game to 7-4, but it wasn't enough. The Mets' young catcher got off to a rough start, but has looked increasingly comfortable at the plate over the last two weeks. He has an 11/9 K/BB ratio on the season, illustrating good plate discipline.

It's just a routine day of rest. Anthony Recker is behind the dish Sunday in d'Arnaud's place.

Travis d'Arnaud went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI Monday against the Cardinals.
The double to right-center nearly left the yard, but at least it did give him his third extra-base hit in 52 at-bats. He's still batting just .192, but this makes four hits in his last two starts.

Travis d'Arnaud hit his first homer of the year Friday off the Angels' Tyler Skaggs.
It was just d'Arnaud's fourth hit in 31 at-bats. He didn't look very good for most of the spring either, but he did pick it up in the end, giving some hope that a fast start was on the way. Instead, he's remained a disappointment.

Travis d'Arnaud notched his first two hits of the season Tuesday, going 2-for-4 in a win over the Braves on Tuesday.
d'Arnaud began the season 0-for-16 before a fourth inning single, and just for good measure he added a double and a run scored in seventh. The catcher has gotten off to a slow start to his major league career, both at the plate and from a health perspective, but the Mets believe he's the team's catcher of the future. Hopefully his multi-hit day is a sign of good things to come.

Travis d'Arnaud is not in the Mets' lineup Sunday.
D'Arnaud is a little worn down, and manager Terry Collins likely also wanted to keep the youngster's average above .200 (it's at .205). The 24-year-old didn't hit much in his first big league audition, but it shouldn't hurt his chances at being the Opening Day catcher in 2014.

Travis d'Arnaud left Tuesday's game against the Giants with a sore right shoulder.
D'Arnaud took a foul tip off the shoulder and was in obvious pain. He'll surely have a big bruise but should be fine in a day or two. Anthony Recker took his spot behind the plate.

Travis d'Arnaud laced a game-winning RBI single to center in the 12th inning Sunday, sending the Mets to a 1-0 victory over the Marlins.
Zach Phillips loaded the bases in the bottom of the 12th, but Ryan Webb induced two fielder's choice ground ball outs before d'Arnaud ended the affair. The rookie catcher has a bright future, but his bat isn't ready for fantasy stardom just yet; he's slashing .169/.235/.234 over 77 at-bats.
