Pearce (abdomen) went 0-for-2 and drew a pair of walks before departing for a pinch-runner late in Saturday's game against the Rays.
The game action was Pearce's first since August 29. With Manny Machado out for the season, Pearce will likely see his time at first base with Chris Davis covering third down the stretch, mostly against left-handed pitching.

Pearce (abdomen) is back in the lineup Saturday against the Rays, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
An abdominal strain sidelined Pearce for more than a week, but he'll step back in Saturday as Chris Davis heads across the diamond to third base to face lefty Drew Smyly. Pearce is batting .326/.396/.663 with seven homers in 96 plate appearances against left-handed pitching this season.

Pearce (abdomen) will hit off a tee Thursday and take batting practice Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
If Pearce completes both activities without incident, there's a good chance he'll be available to play Saturday against the Rays. Pearce has been held out of the lineup for the past six games.

Pearce (abdomen) remains out of the lineup Wednesday against the Reds, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Per the Baltimore Sun's Eduardo A. Encina, Pearce is still waiting to receive clearance to swing a bat. He's reported improvement with his abdominal strain in recent days, but until he properly tests out the injury, a return to the lineup shouldn't be considered imminent.

The Orioles are playing it cautious with Pearce (abdomen), but he will attempt to swing a bat in the next few days, MASN Sports reports.
There was initially hope that Pearce would be able to return to the lineup in the middle of the week, but that plan appears to be out the window. If Pearce cannot swing a bat for another couple of days, he may not get back into the lineup until sometime next week.

Manager Buck Showalter said Pearce is doing better and could do a "test run" during the series with the Reds, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
With that news, it appears Pearce will likely make an appearance sometime in the next few days assuming everything goes well. When he returns, it will likely push Chris Davis back to third base despite the addition of Kelly Johnson to the roster.

Pearce (abdomen) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Twins, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
A strained abdomen will keep Pearce on the bench for the second straight game, forcing Chris Davis to move over from third base to cover for Pearce at first base. The Orioles bolstered their depth in the corner infield by acquiring Kelly Johnson from the Red Sox on Saturday, but Pearce's strong production this season should give him the edge in holding on to his job once he returns to full health.

Pearce (abdomen) is out of the lineup Saturday against the Twins, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.
Chris Davis will return to first base with Pearce ailing, as Jimmy Paredes steps in at the hot corner. An MRI cleared Pearce of any abdominal tears and his injury is not related to his oblique or intercostal muscles, but the team could opt to give him several more days to recover. A DL stint is likely not in the cards with rosters set to expand Monday.
