Leake (10-13) fired 6.2 innings Sunday against the Indians, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out five on his way to the loss.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was handed the tall task of taking down Cleveland ace Corey Kluber, and he certainly did his best to keep his team in the game. Leake exhibited excellent control all afternoon, walking none and throwing nearly 75 percent of his pitches for strikes, but a pair of RBI doubles in the fourth and a solo homer in the sixth ultimately sealed his fate against the former Cy Young Award winner. Since coming to Seattle via trade the 29-year-old's ERA still sits at a neat 2.53 mark, so he'll look to further improve that in his final start of the season next weekend against the Angels.

Leake gave up only one run on six hits over 6.2 innings Tuesday while striking out five but didn't factor into the decision in a 3-1 loss to the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran righty found himself locked in an unlikely pitcher's duel with Martin Perez into the seventh inning, but the M's couldn't produce the offense to give Leake his fourth straight win since coming to Seattle. He now has a 2.13 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 22:2 K:BB in 25.3 innings with the M's, but he'll face a tough test Sunday at home against Cleveland.

Leake (10-12) held the Rangers to a single run on five hits and a walk while striking out five over 5.2 innings Wednesday, earning his third consecutive win.
EDGE Analysis
Leake's Mariners career couldn't be off to a better start, as his first three outings as an American League pitcher have resulted in a 3-0 record with a 2.41 ERA and 17:2 K:BB over 18.2 innings. After a subpar campaign in St. Louis that culminated with him allowing 22 earned runs in his last 19.1 innings before being traded, this turnaround has been sudden and impressive. He'll look to keep it rolling in a home rematch with Texas on Tuesday.

Leake (9-12) picked up the win over the Angels on Friday, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits over six innings while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran righty has now delivered two straight quality starts since joining the Mariners, posting a 12:1 K:BB in 13 innings with his new club and lowering his ERA to 4.10 on the year. With James Paxton (pectoral) and Felix Hernandez (shoulder) potentially rejoining the rotation next week, the date of Leake's next outing is up in the air, but if he stays on a regular schedule it would come Wednesday on the road against the Rangers.

Leake will make his next start Friday against the Angels, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mariners will shift their rotation around with Yovani Gallardo transitioning to the bullpen; Andrew Moore will enter the rotation to start Wednesday against the Astros, with Leake assuming Gallardo's place in the rotation Friday versus the Angels. Leake will now enter his second start with the Mariners on ample rest.

Leake (1-0) gave up two earned runs on eight hits, a walk and a wild pitch over seven innings in Friday's 3-2 win over the Athletics. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Perhaps a change of scenery is what Leake needed, as he looked back to early-season form after wiggling out of a tough first inning. The veteran right-hander has mostly struggled in the second half with the Cardinals, although he had turned in a solid seven-inning effort in a no-decision against the Rays in what turned out to be his final start in St. Louis. Leake notably kept the ball in the yard Friday after having surrendered four homers over his prior two appearances and encouragingly showed stamina by firing a season-high 105 pitches. He'll look to put together a successful encore against the potent Astros in a home matchup next Wednesday.

Leake will toe the rubber for the first time in a Mariners' uniform Friday against Oakland, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Leake's latest outing came against the Rays on Aug. 26, with the right-hander allowing four earned runs in seven innings. He will jump right into the top end of the rotation for Seattle while Felix Hernandez (shoulder) and James Paxton (pectoral) continue to recover from injuries. This start moves Yovani Gallordo's outing to Saturday while Andrew Albers will take the mound for Sunday's series finale.

Leake was traded to Seattle on Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Leake will have roughly $55 million left on his deal, and although it has yet to be determined what the parameters of the exchange are, it's expected that the Cardinals will receive some compensation or a low-level prospect in return. Throughout the course of the 2017 season, Leake has posted a 4.21 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 154 innings in 26 starts, while recording a 103:35 K:BB. During his latest start against the Rays on Saturday, the right-hander allowed four runs on six hits over seven innings. With Felix Hernandez (shoulder) and James Paxton (pectoral) on the DL for Seattle, Leake should slide right into the rotation upon his arrival, and either get a start versus the A's this weekend or appear early next week against the Astros.

Leake gave up four runs on six hits -- including three home runs -- over seven innings in a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday. He struck out three and did not issue a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Leake was fortunate to escape with just four earned runs on his ledger -- the bases were clear for two of the homers he surrendered. The right-hander was on shaky ground in the rotation coming into Saturday, and while the Cardinals ended up winning this game, Leake's performance didn't help his case to continue on in a starting role. Jack Flaherty is a candidate to take Leake's rotation spot in September.

Leake will start Saturday's game against the Rays, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although Leake was tabbed with Saturday's start, his spot in the rotation moving forward is all but certain. Over his last five starts, Leake has collected four losses and posted a treacherous 9.26 ERA and 1.93 WHIP. Due to his recent struggles and a meager 6.12 K/9, Leake offers little fantasy appeal.
