Leake (6-7) coughed up eight runs (three earned) on nine hits and a walk over 3.2 innings in Wednesday's 9-6 loss to the Marlins. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Some shoddy defense behind him helped salvage Leake's ERA, but there's no excusing three home runs allowed in less than four innings of work. This was the shortest outing of the year to date for the 29-year-old, but with the All-Star Game approaching he'll get plenty of time to clear his head before his next start after the break.

Leake (6-6) allowed just one run on five hits and three walks with four strikeouts over eight innings and earned the victory Friday night against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Friday's appearance ties Leake's first start of the season, all the way back on April 7 against the Reds, for his longest outing of the year. Although his lack of strikeouts hurts his fantasy value -- he has struck out over five batters in a start just four times in 2017 -- Leake is putting in consistently solid work for the Cardinals. He now has three quality starts in a row and has lowered his ERA to 2.97.

Leake lasted six innings in a no-decision against the Pirates on Sunday, but only struck out two while allowing three earned runs on six hits. He also walked two.
EDGE Analysis
Since his last win on May 24 against the Dodgers, Leake has taken four straight losses followed by a pair of no-decisions. He's still comfortable sandwiched in the Cards' rotation behind ace Carlos Martinez and Lance Lynn and ahead of former studs Adam Wainwright and Michael Wacha, but owners sure would love if the former Red could get in the win column a bit more frequently. Leake's next assignment comes Friday at home in a tough matchup versus the Nationals.

Leake allowed one run on three hits and two walks over six innings while striking out five but had to settle for a no-decision in Tuesday's extra-inning win over the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
After delivering nine straight quality starts to begin the season, Leake had failed to do so in any of his prior four starts before regaining his form Tuesday, dropping four straight decision in the process. He'll take a 3.03 ERA into his next outing Sunday at home against the Pirates.

Leake (5-6) allowed six runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out just three batters during Wednesday's loss to Milwaukee.
EDGE Analysis
After posting a 1.91 ERA and 0.93 WHIP through his first nine starts of the season, Leake has surrendered 18 runs over 24.2 innings in his past four outings for a 6.20 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. It's probably wise to expect the veteran to settle somewhere in between going forward, and being selective with his opponents will probably enable Leake to return to being a serviceable fantasy asset. He projects to make his next start on the road against Philadelphia.

Leake (5-5) allowed three runs -- two earned -- on 10 hits and two walks while striking out five batters over five innings during Thursday's loss to Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
Leake has now lost three consecutive starts with 12 runs allowed over 18.2 innings. It's a discouraging slide after posting a 1.91 ERA and 0.93 WHIP through his first nine games of the year. Leake still sports a respectable 3.59 FIP for the year and remains a serviceable fantasy asset despite his recent struggles. He'll look to bounce back in his next start against the Brewers at Busch Stadium.

Leake (5-4) allowed five runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five to take the loss Saturday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Leake was in great shape with a 3-1 lead going into the seventh inning before he ran into trouble, resulting in him giving up a two-out grand slam to Kyle Schwarber. Although he's allowed at least four runs in each of his last two outings, he's been an exceptional fantasy option this year, as he has a 2.64 ERA, and unless this downward trend continues, he should be used with confidence in fantasy lineups. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Reds.

Leake (5-3) gave up four earned runs on six hits and a walk in Monday's 5-1 loss to the Dodgers. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Leake was solid as usual, but a pair of solo home runs and an almost complete lack of run support conspired to do him in. The veteran right-hander was taken deep by Chase Utley in the third to open the scoring and then saw Cody Bellinger tag him the very next inning for a 432-foot blast. On the bright side, Leake's six strikeouts were his most since April 23, and he's now logged at least seven innings in four of his last five starts. However, after not surrendering any round trippers over his five trips to the mound in April, Leake notably regressed in May, allowing six homers in five starts. He'll look to bounce back in a Saturday start against the Cubs at Wrigley.

Leake (5-2) gave up an earned run on four hits over eight innings in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Dodgers. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander continues rolling along, with Wednesday's effort making him 9-for-9 in quality starts this season. Leake has allowed two earned runs or less in all but one of those outings, and he's now reached the eighth inning twice while throwing under 100 pitches in each instance. His ERA and WHIP are at a sparkling 1.91 and 0.93, respectively, and he'll look to keep it going in a rematch against the Dodgers at home next Monday afternoon.

Leake (4-2) allowed two runs on seven hits over seven innings while striking out five but didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's extra-inning loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Trevor Rosenthal promptly allowed Boston to tie the game in the eighth inning as soon as Leake hit the showers, costing the 29-year-old righty his fifth win. He's now a perfect 8-for-8 in delivering quality starts this season, but his 2.03 ERA and 0.99 WHIP are due for some regression given his fortunate .256 BABIP and 83.7 percent strand rate. Leake will get a couple extra days rest before next taking the mound Wednesday on the road against the Dodgers.
