Manager Mike Matheny would not commit to Leake taking his next turn Saturday against the Rays, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
When asked whether Leake would start Saturday, Matheny would also go so far as to say that Leake's an "option." Leake was knocked around for six runs in three innings against the Pirates on Sunday, and he's now lost 10 of his last 12 decisions. After rattling off nine consecutive quality starts to begin the campaign, Leake has posted a 5.78 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 58:25 K:BB over 85.2 innings. Jack Flaherty would be on normal rest Saturday, although he's not yet on the Cardinals' 40-man roster.

Leake (7-12) was lit up for six earned runs on eight hits across just three innings of a 6-3 loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday. He struck out three and didn't issue a walk.
EDGE Analysis
The Pirates' hitters wasted no time in front of 3,000 fans at the Little League Classic in Williamsport, knocking Leake out of the game before the fourth inning. Leake is now riding an ugly four-game losing streak and is 1-6 over his last nine starts -- allowing seven or more hits seven times during that span -- so he's definitely one starting pitcher to avoid right now if possible.

Leake (7-11) took the loss Tuesday to the Red Sox, coughing up eight runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.1 innings while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
He was engaged in a 1-0 pitcher's duel with Rick Porcello until the fifth inning, when Boston's bats exploded for eight runs to blow the game open. The eight earned runs allowed were a season high for Leake, who now has a 6.29 ERA in seven starts since the All-Star break. He'll try to turn things around Sunday in Pittsburgh.

Leake gave up five runs (four earned) on 11 hits and a walk over five innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Wednesday. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
That's a season-high hit total for the veteran righty, but it's also the fourth time he's given up double-digit knocks this season. Leake had allowed just 16 total hits and six runs over his last three starts, but his lack of bat-missing ability opens him up to missteps like this one. Even so, he still has solid fantasy stats with a 3.48 ERA and 1.28 WHIP. His next start will come Tuesday in an interleague road matchup with the Red Sox.

Leake (7-10) allowed three runs on eight hits while striking out three across six innings to take the loss Friday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Leake was solid through the first four innings, but gave up a pair of runs in the fifth to break a 1-1 tie, leading to his 10th loss of the season. After ending the month of June with a 2.97 ERA, he's allowed 15 earned runs over his last 28.2 innings covering six starts while dropping four of five decisions. Unless he turns things around quickly, he'll be a difficult player to trust in fantasy lineups. He'll make his next start Wednesday against the Royals.

Leake (7-9) allowed three runs on four hits and two walks and struck out four over five innings in a loss Saturday to Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
Leake's inconsistency plagues him yet again. Just five days after tossing seven shutout innings against the Rockies, Leake failed to record a quality start for the fourth time in his last time outings. Leake's 3.29 ERA this season is enticing, but since the end of April, he has been mediocre (4-8, 3.97 ERA over 95.1 innings).

Leake (7-8) pitched seven scoreless innings Monday against the Rockies, allowing just four hits while striking out six on his way to collecting the victory.
EDGE Analysis
After experiencing a fair amount of struggles this summer, Leake turned in one of his most impressive starts of the season. He managed to get through the seven frames in 94 pitches, with 57 of them going for strikes. He also didn't walk a single batter, helping him to lower his ERA and WHIP to 3.20 and 1.28, respectively. The right-hander will look to keep the good times going in his next start scheduled for Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Leake will remain in the rotation for the time being despite acknowledging he is having trouble maintaining optimal body strength between starts, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander was stricken with shingles last season, which lead to a notable loss of weight and strength. A year later, Leake confirms he is still struggling to return to his condition prior to the ailment, and his fatigue seems to be getting increasingly worse as the season wears on. After seeing his ERA sink to an impressive 1.91 on May 24, Leake has gone 1-6 with a 5.04 ERA and .323 BAA in his subsequent 10 starts.

Leake (6-8) gave up seven runs -- four earned -- on 10 hits and a walk over just two innings in Wednesday's loss to the Mets. He didn't record a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a tale of two seasons for Leake. Through his first nine starts, the veteran righty put up an incredible 1.91 ERA and 0.93 WHIP; over his 10 starts since, Leake has posted an atrocious 5.04 ERA and 1.66 WHIP. Additionally, after completing at least six innings in 15 of his first 16 outings, he's now pitched just 10.2 frames combined in his last three starts, and he has more walks (seven) than strikeouts (five) in that span. It's enough to make you wonder whether a hidden injury might be in play. Unless that's revealed to be the case, Leake will make his next start Monday at home against Colorado.

Leake (6-7) allowed two runs on seven hits and five walks while striking out three across five innings, but received no-decision Friday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Leake had a two-run the lead until giving up single runs in the third and fifth innings, and although he threw just 85 pitches, the fact that he walked five batters helped to hasten his departure from the contest. He's allowed more than three earned runs just a single time over his past seven outings, and his 3.12 ERA has made him an excellent fantasy value this season. He'll make his next start Wednesday against the Mets.
