Leake (2-0) picked up the win over the Twins on Saturday, giving up two runs on three hits and four walks over five innings. He failed to strike out a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran threw only 51 of 92 pitches for strikes and managed to generate only three swinging strikes as he battled both the opposition and the 27-degree weather -- the coldest first-pitch temperature since the Twins franchise moved to Minnesota. Leake still emerged victorious, and he'll take a 3.00 ERA into his next outing Friday at home against the A's.

Leake (1-0) allowed two runs on five hits and three walks over seven innings with four strikeouts to pick up the win Sunday against Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
There were a few scary moments, but Leaked calmed down in the later innings, as he rounded off his start with three scoreless frames after allowing both runs withing the first four innings. As usual, Leake succeeded by pitching to contact; if anything, his three walks were uncharacteristically high. Leake is at his best when he's keeping runners off the bases. The key to his 3.92 ERA last year was a pristine 2.3 BB/9, and he'll need to replicate that to keep succeeding in 2018.

Leake (1-1) allowed four earned runs on 10 hits and a walk over six innings in Wednesday's 7-4 Cactus League win over the Brewers. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander isn't missing many bats as spring winds down, as he's now allowed 10 earned runs on 19 hits -- including three home runs -- over 10 innings across his last pair of appearances. Leake reported some fatigue after his last start and planned to get extra rest leading up to Wednesday's outing, but the results ultimately were a mixed bag for the projected No. 3 starter.

Leake's spring ERA is up to 5.19 following a Friday Cactus League outing against the Rangers in which he surrendered six earned runs on nine hits -- including three home runs -- and a hit batsman over four innings.
EDGE Analysis
Leake's performances have progressively deteriorated as spring has unfolded, following a pair of scoreless outings to open the exhibition calendar. The veteran right-hander has now surrendered 11 runs (10 earned) across the 12.1 innings spanning his last three starts. Leake reportedly attributes at least part of the decline to fatigue, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports, which would help explain why his fastball was down to as low as 89 mph against the Rangers. The 31-year-old's plan was to get additional rest leading into a likely start against a Brewers split-squad on Wednesday.

Leake allowed two runs (one earned) on eight hits over 4.1 innings in Sunday's 6-5 Cactus League loss to the Reds. He also recorded a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
The Reds appeared to be seeing Leake's pitches well, as he gave up at least one single in each of his four full frames. However, he limited the damage by coaxing inning-ending outs out of the dangerous trio of Adam Duvall, Scott Schebler and the scrappy Billy Hamilton, and one of his two runs was partly the cause of a Danny Muno error in the third. Leake didn't get many swings and misses after racking up six strikeouts over his previous pair of appearances, but he's now managed to up his innings workload over the prior outing in each of the last three trips to the mound. The veteran appears on track for the regular season and will look to continue refining his game in a likely start against the Rangers next Friday.

Leake is 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, .250 BAA and 6:0 K:BB through three spring starts.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander's longest outing of spring Tuesday also saw his ERA get blemished for the first time through three starts, as Leake was touched up for three earned runs on five hits over four innings by the Rockies. Leake stretched out to 48 pitches and encountered all his trouble in his last pair of frames, with a solo home run he gave up to Tom Murphy in the fourth serving as the third and final run against him. Despite scuffling for the first time this spring, Leake's overall body of work thus far lends credence to the notion that his impressive 32-inning stint with the Mariners last season (2.53 ERA, 27:2 K:BB) after a trade from the Cardinals was no fluke.

Leake fired three scoreless innings in Thursday's 4-3 Cactus League loss to the Royals, recording four strikeouts. He also recorded a pickoff on second base.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander needed only an efficient 19 pitches to get through his trio of frames, and as per Greg Johns of MLB.com, he was particularly pleased with the control he had over his changeup. Leake has reportedly been working on slowing down his average speed on the pitch to the low 80s in an effort to differentiate it further from his fastball. Now having blanked opposing batters for five innings over his first two spring starts, the 30-year-old will look to continue his success in a likely start against the Rockies next Tuesday or Athletics on Wednesday.

Leake spun two scoreless innings in his Cactus League debut in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the White Sox, conceding one hit and no walks.
EDGE Analysis
A waiver-deadline pickup from the Cardinals last August, Leake closed an up-and-down season on a high note during his time in Seattle, going 3-1 with a 2.53 ERA over five starts. With Leake having failed to crack a 7.0 K/9 rate since breaking into the big leagues in 2010, there seemingly isn't much room for growth as heads into his age-30 campaign, but the right-hander should prove to be an effective innings eater for Seattle. Leake's pitch-to-contact ways shouldn't prove too costly at the power-suppressing Safeco Field, especially with speed maven Dee Gordon set to flag down fly balls in center field for him this season.

Leake was able to manage a sore lat muscle after getting traded to Seattle, and is poised to be one of the team's rotation anchors in 2018, Josh Horton of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He posted a 2.53 ERA and 2.25 FIP in five starts after joining the Mariners, but was shut down once they were eliminated from playoff contention. The move seemed to suit Leake, a San Diego native who went to Arizona State. "There definitely is a culture difference between the two," Leake said of leaving St. Louis. "I think a laid-back environment is good for the game of baseball in general. It's such a long season. You've got to be loose to know each other better, so it's nice to be back west." Leake won't be a major difference maker in fantasy, but at his best he can eat innings and qualify for wins without sinking ratios.

Leake is dealing with a minor lat injury and will not make another start before the end of the regular season, Bob Dutton of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Leake has been dealing with the lat issues since coming over from the Cardinals via trade earlier in the year, and seeing as the Mariners are already out of playoff contention, they'll play it safe and end his season early. The 29-year-old compiled a 2.53 ERA and 27:2 K:BB in 32 innings (five starts) for the Mariners this season. Andrew Moore is expected to start in his place Saturday.
