Matt Holliday left Thursday's game against the Cubs in the fourth inning with a right hamstring injury. Holliday pulled up lame just before getting to first base as he tried to beat out a groundball. Matt Holliday has been moved down to the No. 5 spot in the Cardinals' batting order Tuesday. It's the first time since 2011 and just the fourth time during his time as a Cardinal that Holliday has batted lower than fourth. It's understandable, though, given his relatively disappointing .268/.350/.439 batting line this season. The Cards are hitting Yadier Molina second, Carlos Beltran third and Allen Craig fourth ahead of Holliday.
