Matt Holliday (neck) hopes to return to the lineup for Thursay's series finale with the Angels. Holliday has been sidelined for the past two games with a pinched nerve in his neck that is affecting his ability to turn and face the pitcher. Allen Craig filled in as the Cardinals' left fielder on Wednesday night. Holliday took some swings on the side in anticipation of being used as a pinch-hitter in the later innings.
