Matt Holliday belted a solo homer in Monday's World Series Game 5 loss to the Red Sox. Holliday deposited a Jon Lester cutter over the center field fence, but just as it was in Game 1, the solo blast was the only run the Cards could muster. They managed just four hits on the night, and they didn't draw a single walk. St. Louis has been held to four runs or fewer in nine of their last 11 playoff games.

The Cardinals jumped on opposing starter Edwin Jackson for six runs in the first three frames, then cruised to an easy victory. The veteran outfielder is enjoying yet another terrific season offensively, hitting .300/.389/.490 with 22 homers, 103 runs, 94 RBI and six stolen bases.
