Mat Latos took his first loss of the season on Tuesday, allowing three runs in five innings against the Pirates.
All good things must end. Latos hadn't suffered a loss since August 24 of last season until Tuesday, despite the start not being his worst in that span. The right-hander was actually pretty good, striking out nine while allowing the Pirates to get just three hits and three walks. He'll look to start a new streak Sunday when he faces the Diamondbacks in Arizona.

Mat Latos gave up four runs in six innings in a no-decision against the Reds on Thursday.
Latos gave up eight hits (including a solo homer to David DeJesus) while walking one and striking out four. He left in position for the victory, but Sam LeCure coughed up the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. While he didn't get the win, he remains undefeated for the year. He'll carry a 3.08 ERA into a divisional matchup against the Pirates next week.

Mat Latos held the Cardinals to two runs over seven innings Saturday in the Reds' 4-2 victory.
Latos wasn't dominant, but he did a nice job navigating the dangerous St. Louis lineup and wound up striking out five batters without issuing a walk. The right-hander has an ace-like 2.87 ERA in 84 2/3 innings this season. He should keep rolling next week against the Cubs.

Mat Latos deserved a win but got a no-decision Sunday, as he held the Pirates to two runs over six innings in a loss.
Latos yielded just three hits, walked two and struck out seven. The right-hander still hasn't lost a game this season, but he's also taken a no-decision many times when he deserved a win. He'll carry a nice 3.01 ERA and 1.18 WHIP into a big showdown with the Cardinals next weekend.

Mat Latos moved to 5-0 on the season after tossing 6 1/3 innings of one-run ball in Tuesday's 8-2 victory over the Indians.
Latos walked an uncharacteristic four, but he gave up just five hits and recorded seven strikeouts. The Reds' bullpen bailed him out in the seventh when the game was still close, as Manny Parra and Sam LeCure got back-to-back strikeouts after Latos had issued a pair of walks. He'll try to keep things rolling this weekend in Pittsburgh.

Mat Latos is 18-4 with a 3.41 ERA in 43 starts since joining the Reds.
Gone are concerns as to whether Latos could handle the move from pitcher's paradise San Diego to hurler hell's Cincinnati -- he's posted a 122 ERA+ since moving to Ohio. Latos has yet to lose in 2013, going 4-0 with a 3.17 ERA and a 55/16 K/BB ratio over 65 1/3 innings.

Mat Latos pitched 8 1/3 innings of two-run ball in a no-decision against the Marlins on Thursday.
Starting the ninth with a 2-1 lead, Latos gave up a one-out triple to Adeiny Hechavarria and was pulled in favor of Aroldis Chapman. Chapman went on to give up a triple of his own to take his first blown save, but he preserved the tie from there and got the win in relief. It was Latos' fifth no-decision in nine starts this season. The other four were all wins, and he still hasn't taken a loss since last Aug. 24.

Mat Latos surrendered seven runs -- six earned -- over six innings but the Reds beat the Brewers on Saturday.
Latos gave up nine hits -- including two homers -- while issuing three walks. But the Cincinnati offense bailed him out. The right-hander was handed his fourth victory and will carry a 4-0 record, 3.04 ERA and 1.27 WHIP into his next scheduled outing against the Phillies. He should have a much easier time navigating that lineup.
