Tomlin was placed on league's Family Medical Emergency List on Wednesday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlin can remain on the MLB's Family Medical Emergency List for 3-5 days. Cleveland will play Wednesday's game with 24 players, then activate Danny Salazar from the DL on Thursday to fill the empty roster spot. At this point in time, the club has yet to indicate whether or not Tomlin will pitch his next scheduled start on Saturday.

Tomlin (11-6) took the loss on Monday despite holding the Red Sox to three runs in 7.2 innings. He allowed seven hits, didn't walk a batter, and struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The strong start was just what the doctor ordered for Tomlin, who had been pounded for 14 runs over his previous two starts. Tomlin has been prone to the home run, allowing at least one in every start since June 9, but still has a respectable 4.14 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. HIs next start will come Saturday against Toronto.

Tomlin (11-5) was shelled in Wednesday's loss to the Nationals. He lasted just four innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlin hadn't allowed more than five earned runs in any of first 18 starts this season, but the right-hander has now surrendered seven earned in each of his last two outings. His troubling trend of allowing home runs continued Wednesday as he gave up his major-league leading 27th bomb of the year. Tomlin has served up a longball in 18 of his 20 starts this season, and has been tagged 17 times over his last 11 games. Tomlin's impressive 1.19 WHIP doesn't do much for fantasy owners when 20 percent of the hits allowed leave the yard (27 home runs on 137 total hits). Things won't get much easier next time out when he faces the Red Sox at home Monday.

Tomlin (11-4) gave up seven earned runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.2 innings in Friday's 13-7 loss to the Yankees. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander simply didn't have it Friday and his trouble started right from the onset. Tomlin yielded an RBI groundout to Brian McCann in the opening frame, and the Yankees' backstop came back to blast an RBI double in the third that plated Jacoby Ellsbury. Starlin Castro followed later in th einning with a 369-foot grand slam to right that brought home Mark Teixeira, McCann and Chase Headley, and Gary Sanchez chased Tomlin in the fifth with an RBI double. The seven earned runs were the most given up by the 31-year-old righty all season, while the loss was his third in the last five starts after a 9-1 run to start the season. He'll try to put the forgettable outing behind him when he takes on the Angels next Thursday.

Tomlin (11-3) allowed two runs on six hits, struck out seven and walked two over seven innings in a victory against the Athletics on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander ran into trouble, allowing one run, in the first but after that, he yielded just four hits in the final six innings. Unfortunately one of those hits was a solo homer. Tomlin isn't a strikeout pitcher, but he's been racking up the punchouts lately, as he has 31 strikeouts in the last 31.1 innings. Tomlin has a 3.43 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 87 strikeouts in 120.2 innings. His next start will be Thursday against the Twins.

Tomlin (10-3) recorded eight strikeouts but gave up four earned runs on seven hits in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander got into trouble from the first inning, with a Chris Davis fielder's choice plating Adam Jones and Mark Trumbo bringing home Davis with a 386-foot two-run shot immediately thereafter. Pedro Alvarez's 448-foot solo shot in the seventh then chased Tomlin, and marked the 24th homer he's given up overall this season. Six of those round-trippers have come over his four July starts, with Tomlin giving 12 runs (nine earned) in two of those outings. He'll look to bounce back when he takes on the A's next Saturday.

Tomlin (10-2) allowed one run on six hits and one walk while striking out four over 7.2 innings to earn the win Sunday at the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlin had a 4-0 lead before giving up his only run of the game in the sixth inning to easily pick up his 10th win of 2016. He's now fired quality starts in three of his last four outings to move his ERA to 3.34. He'll make his next start Saturday at the Orioles.

Tomlin (9-2) suffered his first loss since May, allowing eight runs (five earned) on seven hits, including two homers over 4.2 innings in a loss to the Tigers. He also struck out four and walked one.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has won two games and taken four no-decisions since his last loss, but over that span, he posted a 2.43 ERA. However, home runs have been a major issue for Tomlin lately, as he's allowed 11 bombs in the last 38.2 frames. Overall, Tomlin has a 1.89 HR/9 rate this season. That's definitely something he will have to correct after the All-Star break.

Tomlin didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 2-1, 19-inning victory over the Blue Jays, striking out eight while giving up seven hits, an earned run and two walks over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander pounded the strike zone consistently, garnering 18 called strikes on the afternoon. Tomlin produced his sixth straight quality start, and kicked off July in fine fashion after an equally strong June. The 31-year-old wrapped up the previous month with a 2-0 record and 2.60 ERA, and lowered the latter figure for the season in each of his first three June appearances. He'll look to get back in the win column against the Tigers next Wednesday.

Tomlin (9-1) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk over eight innings while striking out three in Sunday's win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
All three runs came on solo homers, but Tomlin got more than enough run support to accommodate his generosity. He'll be sorry to see the calendar flip to July, as he produced a quality start in all five of his outings in June with a 2.60 ERA and just two walks in 34.2 innings. Tomlin will try to make it six QS in a row when he next takes the mound in Toronto on Friday.
