After a horrid opening month of 2017, Tomlin managed a 3.58 ERA and 0.98 WHIP over 32.2 innings in May.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately for Tomlin's owners, his improved performance led to just a single win over five starts during the month. However, outside of that category, the right-hander looked nothing like the pitcher that posted an 8.87 ERA and 1.76 WHIP during April's five outings. Opposed to the .362 batting average opposing hitters racked up the previous month, Tomlin managed a strong .250 BAA in May while posting an impressive 22:1 K:BB during the five-game stretch. Overall this year, the 32-year-old has really struggled to limit damage, as evidenced by his AL-worst 58.9 percent strand rate. Based on Tomlin's respectable 3.76 FIP, one would assume his May performance, opposed to April's, is more indicative of what owners can expect as the season rolls along.

Tomlin (3-6) allowed one run on six hits while striking out three batters over nine innings during Sunday's win over Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
The gem cut Tomlin's ERA down to 5.79 from the 6.70 mark he entered with, and his 3.93 FIP suggests there will probably be better fantasy results ahead. He can be a serviceable asset to utilize in favorable matchups, and Sunday's outing was encouraging. Still, it's probably wise to keep expectations in check after his rocky start to 2017. Tomlin lines up to face the Royals again in his next start.

Tomlin (2-6) allowed five runs -- four earned -- on nine hits while striking out four batters over 6.1 innings during Monday's loss to Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
After a two-outing stretch with just two runs allowed over 15 innings, Tomlin has now surrendered 10 earned runs through 8.2 innings in his past two outings. The veteran sports a disastrous 6.70 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 6.9 K/9 for the campaign, and considering Cleveland has championship aspirations, Tomlin's rotation leash has to be shorter than ever. He projects to face Kansas City in his next start.

Tomlin (2-5) allowed six runs on seven hits while striking out five batters over just 2.1 innings during Wednesday's loss to Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
This was a discouraging outing from Tomlin. He posted an 8.87 ERA and 1.76 WHIP through his first five starts of the season, but then allowed just two runs through 15 innings over his previous two outings entering Wednesday. It's probably best to stick with a wait-and-see stance until Tomlin proves he's fully turned it around on the hill. A road start at Cincinnati is up next for the 32-year-old righty.

Tomlin (2-4) allowed one run on six hits and one walk while striking out seven across eight innings to take the loss Friday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlin allowed a solo homer to Miguel Sano in the first inning, and the Indians bats were unable to provide him a single run in a losing effort. Despite a rough start to the season, he's now held opponents to a one earned run in each of his last two starts to lower his ERA to 5.87, and his recent turnaround make him a player to consider adding in fantasy leagues. He'll make his next start Wednesday against the Rays.

Tomlin (2-3) allowed one run on three hits while striking out three across seven innings, but received no decision Saturday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlin put together his first excellent start of the season, but was pulled after just 76 pitches in a 1-1 tie. After getting crushed for 13 runs in 6.1 innings over his first two starts, he's now fired quality starts in three of his last four contests, and although his ERA is at an unacceptable 7.12, he's been a useful fantasy option since the poor start. He'll make his next start Friday against the Twins.

Tomlin will start for the Indians on Saturday against the Royals, Jordan Bastian and Jason Beck of MLB.com report.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander will keep his Saturday schedule after the Indians' Thursday rainout. Tomlin could be a fine streaming option against the offensively challenged Royals at generally pitcher-friendly Kauffman Stadium.

Tomlin (2-3) earned his second win of the season Sunday versus the Mariners, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk across five innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlin, who was staked to a huge early lead, allowed a solo home run in the second before surrendering three more runs with no outs in the sixth. He needed just 86 pitches before his removal, throwing 63 percent for strikes, and he boosted his K:BB to 17:3 with another sound performance in that department. Tomlin tossed back-to-back quality starts after a dismal start to the season, and while Sunday's outing was not quite as effective, he seems to be trending in the right direction ahead of Friday's favorable matchup against the Royals.

Tomlin (1-3) gave up three runs on eight hits over six innings in Tuesday's loss to Houston. He struck out six and didn't walk anyone.
EDGE Analysis
After getting pulverized in his first two outings, Tomlin's delivered consecutive quality starts. Sure, he's only met the bare minimum requirements both times, but he also hasn't walked anyone in that span; his K:BB now sits at 14:2 over 18.1 innings. Indeed, Tomlin's always around the strike zone, but his stuff is rather hittable, so it's hard to own him in most fantasy formats.

Tomlin (1-2) allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings while striking out two in Tuesday's 11-4 win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
After a couple of rough outings to begin the year, the right-hander was able to find his form Tuesday. He's going to need more than one quality start to chop down his 11.68 ERA, but if the Indians keep giving Tomlin this kind of run support he should be able to match last season's career-high 13 wins. His next start will come Sunday on the road against the White Sox.
