Tomlin didn't factor into the decision after allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits over seven innings against the Rays. He didn't issue a walk for the third straight start, but struck out just three.
EDGE Analysis
Even with his inability to miss bats, Tomlin has still posted a terrific 12:0 K:BB in his last three outings. While the lack of walks is keeping people of the basepaths, the veteran hasn't helped himself by allowing at least one home run in 10 of his last 11 starts. Tomlin will look to keep the ball in the yard when he heads to Detroit for his next start Sunday.

Tomlin gave up nine hits over 6.1 innings Thursday, but didn't walk a batter and held the Mariners to two runs while striking out four in a no-decision.
EDGE Analysis
This was a fairly typical outing for Tomlin in that he was around the plate a lot getting lucky with his strand rate -- the Mariners certainly got plenty of hits off him, but scored their only runs on a pair of solo homers. The long ball continues to be Tomlin's bugaboo, as he's given up a whopping 12 in just 67.1 innings on the year, and that combined with the fact that he's allowing more than a hit per inning ought to lead to some ERA inflation. Although he's inducing some more grounders this year than he has in the last few seasons, Tomlin's still an acutely hittable flyball pitcher whose near-total lack of walks can't make up for his shortcomings in the long run. His next start comes Tuesday against the Royals, who got him for four runs on seven hits back in early May.

Tomlin (7-1) allowed eight runs (but just four earned) on nine hits over 3.2 innings in a loss Monday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlin certainly struggled, as he was tagged for three extra-base hits and managed just 11 first-pitch strikes to 22 batters. But Tomlin's start was tanked by Cleveland's defense, which committed four errors behind Tomlin and forced him to throw far more pressure pitches than he needed to. This marks the first time all season Tomlin has failed to make it at least five innings, but given the defensive circus behind him, it's pretty easy to see Monday's start is an outlier.

Tomlin (7-0) allowed two runs on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts over eight innings to earn the win Tuesday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Dating back to last season, Tomlin has now allowed just a 3.16 ERA with 93 strikeouts against just 14 walks. Tomlin has disappointed in the past and had just a 4.56 career ERA entering Tuesday's start, but he now has over half a season of solid performance under his belt with a 14-2 record in that stretch, and it's getting harder and harder to deny that Tomlin is a changed pitcher.

Tomlin (6-0) struck out seven while holding the Reds to two runs -- both on a Joey Votto homer -- over 7.2 innings in Thursday's 7-2 win. He gave up just five hits and walked one.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlin's teased us before, but it's getting harder and harder to resist his charms with the veteran righty sitting on a 3.56 ERA and slender 1.02 WHIP. That said, you're well advised to continue resisting -- his typically marginal strikeout rate and tendency to give up homers are frightening, and that .242 BABIP screams regression, especially when he's sitting on the highest rate of hard-hit balls of his career. The immaculate control is well and good, but Tomlin's pitch-to-contact ways invite trouble, and it's going to find him sooner or later.

Tomlin didn't factor in the decision in Friday's 7-6 victory over the Twins, giving up four hits, four runs (three earned) and two walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran righty gave up multiple homers for the first time all season, but has only gone one game overall without having the ball leave the yard. Tomlin has been a mixed bag to date this season, as his pristine 5-0 record belies the fact that he's surrendered eight runs (seven earned) over the last 12.1 innings, and seven homers overall. However, he's been solid in terms of finding the strike zone, as evidenced by a solid 1.08 WHIP and the mere four walks he's issued over 35.1 innings.

Tomlin (5-0) got just enough run support Sunday to notch his fifth straight win, allowing four runs on seven hits over six innings while striking out three in a 5-4 victory over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
His 3.72 ERA and 5.90 K/9 aren't exactly ace-like, but Tomlin has walked just two batters this season in 29 innings to give him a solid 1.10 WHIP. He'll try to extend his win streak to six games Friday, at home against the Twins.

Tomlin (4-0) remained perfect in 2016 with Tuesday's win over the Tigers. He tossed six innings, allowing two runs on nine hits while striking out nine.
EDGE Analysis
Most impressive about Tuesday's outing was probably the fact that Tomlin showed toughness, getting out of jams and working through a taxing 105-pitch performance (20 more pitches than any other start this season). Through 23 innings, the righty has an impressive 13:3 K:BB and 0.78 BB/9. His fastball is down in velocity, but it's unclear at this point whether that correlates to a lingering hamstring issue. However, Tuesday's demanding start would indicate the leg is not a problem anymore.

Tomlin (3-0) collected another win Wednesday in Minnesota despite allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk in 5.1 innings. He struck out just one batter.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlin's first two outings were quite sharp, but he was due for a regression to the mean. The soft-tossing righty delivered a 3.02 ERA accompanied by a startling 57:8 K:BB in 65.2 innings last year, but that ridiculous .199 BABIP and 90.2 percent strand rate are impossible to sustain -- particularly when you're essentially a poor man's Phil Hughes, with all the proneness to the long ball that implies. Expect mediocrity from Tomlin and you won't be disappointed.

Tomlin turned in a solid performance, allowing just one run on four hits, walking one and striking out four over 6.2 innings of a 2-1 win against Detroit on Friday night.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlin (2-0) left his last start early with a tight hamstring, but he showed no signs of an injury in a very efficient start against the Tigers. He'll carry a very snappy 1.54 ERA into his next start against the Twins in Minnesota.
