Josh Johnson gave up two runs over seven strong innings Tuesday in a victory over the Pirates.
Johnson struck out six and walked one. The win is his first on the season, and he lowered his ERA to 5.36 with the strong performance. Though Johnson has struggled for the most part in the early part of the 2012 season, he still has some of the best raw stuff in the league and is capable of turning things around quickly. He'll face the Indians in Cleveland on Sunday.

Josh Johnson got on track in Wednesday's 5-3, 12-inning win over the Astros, allowing just two runs on four hits in seven innings of work.
Johnson struck out six, walked two and allowed a solo home run to Chris Johnson in a no-decision. Tonight was the first time in four starts, and just the second time all season, that Johnson completed seven innings of work. He'll have a chance to get on a roll next Tuesday, where he'll take on the Pirates' major-league worst offense in Miami.

Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen suggested that Josh Johnson may not be completely healthy.
''I just wonder if he's not feeling good,'' Guillen said. ''He says he feels good, but his stuff is not there. I think right now what's killing him is he does not have any command with his pitches.'' In his first six starts, Johnson has a 6.61 ERA and has been a shadow of his former self. PitchFX data has his average fastball velocity at just 92.6 mph.

Josh Johnson lasted just 2 2/3 innings and gave up six runs Friday against the Padres.
It hasn't been the same old Johnson this season. He started this one with two scoreless innings, though he was shaky in the first. In the third, he gave up three walks and four hits, the last a bases-loaded triple by opposing pitcher Anthony Bass. Defense was an issue -- as is typically in Miami -- but this isn't the Johnson who seemed poised to contend for a Cy Young Award if healthy.

Josh Johnson put up a second straight quality start in Tuesday's loss to the Mets, limiting them to one run on just three hits and one walk while striking out nine over 6 1/3 frames.
Johnson appears to be figuring it out after struggling his first two times out, as he's allowed just three runs in his last two starts. His stuff also looks like it's back, so feel free to buy low on him if possible while his ERA (4.63) and WHIP (1.63) are still ugly. He'll try to keep it going this weekend against the Diamondbacks.

Josh Johnson got roughed up by the slumping Phillies Wednesday, allowing six runs on 11 hits in just 3 2/3 innings of Miami's 7-1 loss.
Johnson has now allowed 10 hits in each of his first two starts. Per ESPN's Jayson Stark, that's something he had done only 10 times in 113 career outings coming into 2012. The good news is Johnson's velocity has been fine, but he simply isn't locating with anywhere near the preciseness we've come to expect. His next chance to iron things out should come Tuesday against the Cubs in Miami.

Josh Johnson surrendered three earned runs over six innings Wednesday night in a loss to the Cardinals.
It's obviously not the way the Marlins wanted to open their new ballpark. And it's probably not how Johnson wanted to kick off his 2012 campaign. The right-hander walked two batters and allowed 10 hits, matching a career high. He'll look to get on the right track next week vs. the Phillies.

Josh Johnson fanned nine while allowing three runs in 5 2/3 innings Friday against the Nationals.
Johnson gave up a leadoff homer to Ian Desmond and then two more runs in the fourth, but he was pretty sharp. Besides his nine strikeouts, he also got seven outs on the ground. Next up for him is a date with the Cardinals on opening night next Wednesday.

Josh Johnson blanked the Rays for five innings in a win for the Marlins on Sunday.
Johnson walked five today, but all three he allowed were singles. He has a 1.62 ERA this spring, and he had walked a total of four batters in his four previous outings, so that doesn't seem like much reason for concern.

Josh Johnson allowed one run and five hits in three innings Thursday against the Mets.
Johnson got plenty of work out of the stretch today and proved effective. He finished up with five groundouts, two strikeouts and no walks. So far, so good for Miami'a ace.
