Josh Johnson (shoulder) is now scheduled to resume his throwing program on Wednesday.
Johnson was aiming to begin playing catch Tuesday, but the Marlins apparently wanted to give it another 24 hours. The ace right-hander has been out of commission since late May with a shoulder injury and might not make it back at all this season.

Josh Johnson (shoulder) will attempt to resume his throwing program Tuesday.
SI.com's Jon Heyman reported last week that Johnson isn't expected to pitch again this season, but the Marlins aren't giving up yet. He'll have to start from square one with his throwing program, but the Marlins have a tentative plan in place that could have him back in the big leagues by September. We aren't counting on anything, but this is certainly something to monitor in fantasy leagues.

SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that Josh Johnson is not expected to pitch again in 2011.
It's not surprising, given that the big right-hander has yet to resume throwing since experiencing a setback in late June. The good news is that Heyman hears Johnson has no serious damage with the shoulder and there is no expectation of surgery. He'll rehab his shoulder and hope to return at 100 percent for spring training next season.

Josh Johnson (shoulder) still isn't throwing.
If the Marlins ace is unable to begin a throwing program by the end of this week, he'll probably be written off for the rest of the 2011 regular season. Johnson has been on the disabled list since late May with a shoulder issue and has already run into one major setback.

Josh Johnson (shoulder) still hasn't resumed throwing.
In other words, nothing has changed. Johnson hasn't thrown since a bullpen session on June 24. He received a cortisone shot at the end of June and is still doing strengthening exercises. There remains no timetable for his return.

Josh Johnson (shoulder) hasn't resumed throwing.
Johnson received a cortisone shot in his shoulder at the end of June and while he's feeling improvement, he's only exercising right now. "We hope he will pitch this year," said Marlins president Larry Beinfest. We are not going to rush him back.'' There's no current timetable for his return.

Josh Johnson (shoulder) said Friday that he could be back sometime in August.
"It's looking like that, yes," said Johnson. "I want to be out there." Dr. James Andrews found no structural damage in Johnson's shoulder this week, but he received a cortisone shot and was advised to not throw for 10-14 days. The timeframe for his return could change if he continues to feel discomfort.

Dr. James Andrews found no structural damage Wednesday in Josh Johnson's right shoulder.
Good news, for the most part. Johnson was administered a cortisone shot and is going to rest for the next 10 days before resuming his throwing program. If everything goes well from here on out, he might have a chance of returning in late July. But early August is probably more realistic.

Marlins GM Larry Beinfest said Josh Johnson will be examined Wednesday by Dr. James Andrews because his shoulder is "not feeling 100 percent."
We're not too concerned at this point, as it seems like just a precautionary measure more than anything else, but it always makes us a little nervous when Dr. Andrews is involved. Assuming Andrews doesn't find anything abnormal Wednesday, Johnson should resume his throwing program soon and return just after the All-Star break.

Josh Johnson will have his right shoulder examined by a physician Wednesday as a precaution.
Johnson is simply getting another opinion to make sure there's nothing wrong with his shoulder. The 29-year-old right-hander has already thrown a few bullpen sessions and hopes to return shortly after the All-Star break.
