Weaver struck out nine and walked none in the magnificent outing. The only thing keeping Weaver's gem from being a perfect game, was Chris Parmelee who reached base on a passed ball after striking out in the second inning. Making the night even more special for Weaver, his parents were on hand to enjoy the outing. He's now 4-0 on the season with a tremendous 1.61 ERA. He's looking like an early favorite to win the Cy Young in the American League, and will look to continue his strong start when he takes on these same Minnesota Twins in Minnesota on Monday.

Jered Weaver turned in another very strong performance against the Indians on Friday, allowing no runs on seven hits in his six innings of work. Weaver struck out eight and walked four in the game, but needed 115 pitches to get through the sixth inning. Weaver left with a 2-0 lead, but Hisanori Takahashi and Scott Downs wasted no time handing those runs back to the Indians in the seventh. Weaver still sits at 3-0 and lowered his ERA 2.02 on the season. He'll again search for win number four when he takes on the Twins next week.
