Jered Weaver stifled the Rangers bats on Friday, allowing just two runs on five hits over seven innings en route to his league-leading 20th victory. Weaver punched out five and walked two on the night. Nelson Cruz was single-handedly responsible for all of the damage against him, notching a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning and adding a solo shot in the seventh. He'll head into his final start of the season against the Mariners in Seattle on Wednesday with a 20-4 record, 2.73 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 141/43 K/BB ratio in 187 2/3 innings.

Jared Weaver delivered a quality start in Tuesday's victory over the Rangers, allowing three runs on six hits over his seven innings of work. Weaver walked one and struck out two on the night. His pitch count was at a mere 87 through his seven frames, but with a comfortable 10-3 lead there was no need to push him any further than necessary. He'll head into Tuesday's home match-up against the Mariners with an 18-4 record, 2.79 ERA and 132/40 K/BB ratio through 174 1/3 innings.

Jered Weaver pitched two-hit ball over seven scoreless innings and struck out nine in beating the A's on Thursday. It may have been a case of too little, too late, but Weaver salvaged one game in the four-game series with a gem of a performance after missing one turn with a sore shoulder. At 78-66, the Angels are still 4 1/2 games back of the A's for second place in the AL West and 3 back (4 in the loss column) of the Yankees for the second wild card.

Jered Weaver (shoulder) will start Thursday against the Athletics. Weaver was scheduled to throw a bullpen session Monday, so apparently everything went off without a hitch. The Angels' ace hasn't pitched in eight days due to right biceps tendinitis. It's been a lingering issue for over a month now, but he's hopeful the extended rest will allow him to finish the season strong.

Jered Weaver (shoulder) is expected to throw a bullpen session Monday. The Angels have yet to make a decision on when Weaver will return, but he hasn't reported any issues since resuming a throwing program. There's a chance he'll be cleared to make his next start Wednesday against the Athletics.

Jered Weaver (shoulder) played catch from 90 feet Saturday with no issues. "He felt very good, and that's very encouraging," said Angels manager Mike Scioscia. The manager added that Weaver could throw again Sunday, but no decision has been made on when he'll rejoin the rotation. "We want to get him off a mound (before he's cleared). It's by touch and feel and see where it goes." The Halos will start either Jerome Williams or Barry Enright Tuesday against the A's.

Jered Weaver (biceps) is scheduled to throw a side session Saturday. The Angels are hoping he can return for his next start Wednesday against the Athletics. "I'd like to just skip one, but it all depends on how my body responds," Weaver said. "We really don't have a timetable on the return."

Jared Weaver is unsure when he'll return to the mound, but stated Friday that he expects to make 4-5 more starts this season. In order for him to get that many starts in, Weaver would have to return to the rotation next week. Manager Mike Scioscia hasn't ruled out him pitching against the Athletics next weekend, so at this point that seems like the most likely scenario.

Jered Weaver was diagnosed with right biceps tendinitis. Weaver has already been ruled out to start this weekend. Interestingly, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com hears that it's not directly related to him being hit in the shoulder by a comebacker on Sunday. Either way, the Angels are hoping he'll only have to miss one start.
