Jake Peavy wasn't involved in the decision Thursday after allowing four runs in six innings against the Rockies.
Peavy bounced back nicely after giving up a three-run homer to Troy Tulowitzki in the first. He ended up striking out four and throwing 106 pitches. If he can stay healthy, his results should improve steadily.

Jake Peavy expects to make his next scheduled start Thursday against the Rockies.
Peavy threw 104 pitches last Wednesday and then threw 55 more in his first career relief appearance on Saturday, but he's ready and willing to take his regular turn. The White Sox could still opt to use Edwin Jackson on Thursday and push Peavy back to Friday's series opener against the Royals.

Jake Peavy struck out seven over four scoreless innings in his first career relief appearance as part of Saturday's 3-0 win over the Nationals.
He threw 55 pitches and allowed just one hit. The White Sox used six relievers in Friday's extra-inning loss and John Danks was pulled after just 1 2/3 innings Saturday due to an oblique injury, so Peavy was exactly what the doctor ordered. It's not known if Saturday's outing will have an impact on his next scheduled start.

Jake Peavy allowed three runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday, improving to 3-1 as the White Sox downed the Cubs 4-3 at home.
He struck out five and walked three, and also got into a verbal spat with catcher A.J. Pierzynski as he walked off the field in the sixth. Both downplayed the incident after the game. Peavy looked fairly rusty this evening, but not terrible for somebody coming off the disabled list. He has a tough matchup lined up for his next time out, where he will get the Rockies in Colorado. He has a lifetime 4.59 ERA in eight career starts at Coors Field.

White Sox activated RHP Jake Peavy from the 15-day disabled list.
Peavy, who had been out with a groin injury, tossed six scoreless innings in his lone rehab start for Charlotte, striking out nine while allowing only two hits. He held a 4.66 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 20/4 K/BB ratio over five starts before his injury and can be safely returned to your active roster for a start against the Cubs.

Jake Peavy (groin) has offered to return to the White Sox as a reliever.
Pitching coach Don Cooper initially shot down the idea when Peavy first brought it up, but he now seems more receptive to it. ''If you can keep him healthy that way, I think you can,'' Cooper said. ''It's less of a workload.'' Peavy tossed six scoreless innings Thursday in a rehab start, and the plan is to bring him back as a starter, possibly as soon as next week. But, it sounds like a move to the bullpen is possible if he encounters more health problems.
