Jake Peavy allowed three runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday, improving to 3-1 as the White Sox downed the Cubs 4-3 at home. He struck out five and walked three, and also got into a verbal spat with catcher A.J. Pierzynski as he walked off the field in the sixth. Both downplayed the incident after the game. Peavy looked fairly rusty this evening, but not terrible for somebody coming off the disabled list. He has a tough matchup lined up for his next time out, where he will get the Rockies in Colorado. He has a lifetime 4.59 ERA in eight career starts at Coors Field.
