Jake Peavy struck out seven over four scoreless innings in his first career relief appearance as part of Saturday's 3-0 win over the Nationals. He threw 55 pitches and allowed just one hit. The White Sox used six relievers in Friday's extra-inning loss and John Danks was pulled after just 1 2/3 innings Saturday due to an oblique injury, so Peavy was exactly what the doctor ordered. It's not known if Saturday's outing will have an impact on his next scheduled start.
