Jake Peavy (groin) has offered to return to the White Sox as a reliever. Pitching coach Don Cooper initially shot down the idea when Peavy first brought it up, but he now seems more receptive to it. ''If you can keep him healthy that way, I think you can,'' Cooper said. ''It's less of a workload.'' Peavy tossed six scoreless innings Thursday in a rehab start, and the plan is to bring him back as a starter, possibly as soon as next week. But, it sounds like a move to the bullpen is possible if he encounters more health problems.
