Nova gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk with 11 strikeouts over six innings in Tuesday's no decision against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Nova just missed out on becoming the second Pirates pitcher to go 6-0 in his first eight starts with the franchise, but remains unbeaten since coming over from the Yankees before the trade deadline. The right-hander's 11 strikeouts marked a season high while also pushing his K/9 above 7.0 for the first time since 2013. Sunday's road matchup with the Reds offers another good opportunity for Nova to pick up his sixth win with his new team.

Nova (12-6) tossed a complete game in Thursday against the Reds. He allowed one run on six hits and no walks while striking out four in the win.
EDGE Analysis
After not going the distance since 2013, Nova has now notched two complete-game victories over his last four starts. Since joining the Pirates at the beginning of June, the right-hander is 5-0 with a stellar 2.53 ERA and 0.93 WHIP in seven starts (46.1 innings). Uncharacteristically, Nova has also displayed unbelievable command, racking up a ridiculous 32:2 K:BB since being acquired from the Yankees. He'll look to keep things rolling when he takes the bump for his next start on Tuesday against the Phillies.

Nova allowed two runs on five hits, struck out six and walked one over six innings in a no-decision versus the Brewers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
He held Milwaukee to just three runs over 12 innings in back-to-back starts. Despite the no-decision, Nova has excellent numbers since joining the Pirates. He is 4-0 with a 2.89 ERA, 0.992 WHIP and 28 strikeouts versus just two walks in 37.1 innings. His next start will be Thursday versus the Reds.

Nova (hamstring) will start against the Brewers on Saturday, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
EDGE Analysis
He limited Milwaukee to one run in six innings in his last start Sunday but left with hamstring discomfort. Since coming to Pittsburgh at the trade deadline, Nova has gone 4-0 with a 2.87 ERA and 0.99 WHIP, compiling a 22:1 K:BB ratio.

Nova (hamstring) is on track to make his next schedule start, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nova downplayed the hamstring issue after leaving Sunday's start prematurely, saying he expected to take this weekend's turn. Head athletic trainer Todd Tomczyk supported that notion with an endorsement of Nova's health Tuesday. Outside of one shaky start against San Francisco, Nova has been outstanding since joining the Pirates, allowing a total of six runs in his other four outings.

Nova (hamstring) believes he will make his next scheduled start, Stephen J. Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
The hamstring reportedly tightened up in the fifth innings but he pitched through six in the contest. Nova allowed just one run over those frames and will look to make his next start Friday against the Brewers again. Look for another update confirming his status before then.

Nova was pulled from Sunday's start against the Brewers after six innings due to left hamstring discomfort.
EDGE Analysis
Nova cruised through six frames, surrendering only one run on three hits and no walks while striking out four batters over an economical 75 pitches. He departed the game with a 2-1 lead, so he'll be in line for the win if the Pirates' relief crew is able to keep the Brewers off the board. The Pirates will provide Nova with treatment over the next few days with the hope of alleviating the pain he's experiencing with the hamstring, but as of now, there's no guarantee he'll be able to make his next start. Look for manager Clint Hurdle to provide clarity on Nova's situation after Sunday's game concludes.

Nova (3-0) held the Astros to just one run on six hits and a walk while striking out six in a complete-game gem Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Nova has been a valuable addition since coming over from the Yankees, holding the opposition to nine runs over 25.1 innings in four starts en route to a 3-0 record with his new team. This was by far his best effort yet, as the 29-year-old needed just 98 pitches to get 27 outs after failing to pitch more than seven innings on any previous occasion this season. Another strong outing could be in the cards when he faces an underwhelming Brewers team on the road Sunday.

Nova lasted just four innings Wednesday, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out five and earning a no-decision.
EDGE Analysis
Nova was removed after just 62 pitches Wednesday, a curious move that paid off for manager Clint Hurdle and the Pirates, who came back to win the game 6-5 with a six-run rally in the top of the fifth. The 62 pitches in a start tied a season-low for Nova, whose ERA rose to 4.83 with the poor outing. Nova had thrown a pair of solid starts since being traded from the Yankees, but was unable to find that success Wednesday against the Giants. Nova will look to bounce back against the Astros on Tuesday.

Nova improved to 9-6 Friday as be beat the Dodgers by allowing just one run with two strikeouts and no walks across 5.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Nova scattered several hits around, but six of them went for singles and he helped his cause by throwing 67 percent of his pitches for strikes while managing to refrain from issuing a free pass. Nova has won both of his starts since being acquired by the Pirates and has lowered his ERA to 4.68 on the season. He is merely an arm capable of filling up innings at the back of the rotation, however, and will lack fantasy upside in his Wednesday start at the Giants.
