Nova earned the win in his debut with Pittsburgh on Saturday, hurling seven innings of three-run ball. The righty gave up six hits and no walks, striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
He threw 56 of 76 pitches for strikes and finished with a 9:5 GB:FB. Aside from a pair of homers allowed to Brandon Phillips, Nova made short order of the Reds, utilizing a sinking two-seam fastball. The 29-year-old is on pace to start against the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Friday.

Nova will make his debut for the Pirates at home against Cincinnati on Saturday, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
EDGE Analysis
He is expected to take a regular turn in Pittsburgh's rotation. Nova hasn't faced the Reds since 2012.

Nova was traded to the Pirates on Monday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander has struggled over the past two seasons, but he's a low-cost rental -- Nova's a free agent after this season -- and represents an upgrade at the back end of the Pirates' rotation. Nova's biggest problem this season has been the long ball, as he's given up at least one homer in 14 of his last 15 appearances, and PNC Park may help mitigate those issues to some extent.

Nova (7-6) gave up five earned runs on six hits and three walks over 4.1 innings in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Rays. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander saw the normally anemic Rays offense hit him relatively hard, with a pair of first-inning solo homers by Logan Forsythe and Corey Dickerson spearheading the effort. Nova had gone into Friday riding high after a pair of strong starts versus the Orioles and Giants, but the five runs he surrendered were the most he'd given up since yielding six to the Rockies on June 21. He'll look to bounce back against the Mets next Wednesday.

Nova could be the next pitcher traded by the Yankees, the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nova, who will be a free agent at the end of the season, makes perfect sense as a trade option for the Yankees, who picked up a potential replacement in Adam Warren as part of the Aroldis Chapman trade. His home run problem has been particularly ad this season, as he owns a 1.7 HR/9 that would be his worst in any campaign in his career with more than 25 innings pitched if it doesn't improve. A trade could send him to a more favorable pitchers' park, but he hasn't posted a K/9 above 8.0 since 2012, so even that might be enough to fix what ails him.

Nova did not factor into the decision in Saturday's extra-inning loss to the Giants, surrendering an earned run on six hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old was even better than in his previous start, when he gave up just an earned run over six innings against Baltimore on Monday. Nova went the longest he has in a game all season, while also equaling his second-best strikeout total. The 29-year-old seems to have found some stability in July, giving up only an earned run in three of his last four starts while generating a 2-0 record. He'll look to continue his recent success when he takes on the Rays next Friday.

Nova (7-5) earned the win on Monday, holding the Orioles to one run in six innings. He allowed four hits, walked three, and struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Nova had a disastrous June, posting a 7.52 ERA over five starts. However, in two of his three starts this month he has allowed just a single run. Nova has also struck out 17 over those three starts. He'll carry a 4.92 ERA into his start this Saturday against the Giants.

Nova (6-5) allowed four runs on five hits while striking out six over 5.1 innings to earn the win Thursday at the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Nova allowed a pair of runs in both the third and sixth innings, and he left the contest with a 5-4 lead that the bullpen was able to hold onto, leading him to his sixth victory of the year. He's now failed to complete six innings in any of his last five starts while allowing at least four runs in four of those outings to raise his ERA to 5.18 on the season. He'll make his next start after the All-Star break.

Nova allowed four runs in five innings in a no-decision against the Rangers on Monday. He surrendered six hits, walked three, and struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Nova has not had a June to remember. This month he has recorded just one quality start and has failed to complete six innings in any of his last three starts. The 29-year-old has allowed at least one home run in each of his last 10 starts, bringing his ERA to an inflated 5.32. His next start will come Saturday against the Padres.

Nova (5-5) was rocked for six runs (five earned) on eight hits and two walks with just one strikeout in four innings during Tuesday's loss to Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Nova hasn't fared well against the Rockies, dropping consecutive decisions to them while allowing 11 runs in just nine innings. Other competition hasn't been much kinder to the 29-year-old lately, as he has allowed at least three runs in six straight starts. Monday's home date with the Rangers doesn't offer significant hope of breaking that streak.
