Giancarlo Stanton (ankle) is in the Marlins' starting lineup on Monday afternoon versus the Cubs.
Stanton tweaked his right ankle Sunday on a third-inning groundout. It was never a major concern for Miami.

Giancarlo Stanton is dealing with a minor ankle injury.
Stanton injured his right ankle Sunday on a groundout in the third inning and was eventually removed from game. The Marlins don't believe it's anything serious and are listing him as day-to-day, but he could be held out of Monday's lineup.

Giancarlo Stanton hit his 17th home run against the Nationals on Wednesday.
It's been a forgettable year for Stanton, but he's shown some signs of life lately. He's now hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games, collecting four home runs in that span. Unfortunately because of the lineup around him, he's only recorded six RBI in that span.

Giancarlo Stanton went 0-for-2 with two walks in Friday's loss to the Rockies.
His nine-game hitting streak was snapped in the loss. Stanton is hitting just .249 this season, but his on-base percentage sits at a healthy .358. After walking 46 times in 501 plate appearances last season, he has 51 walks in 363 plate appearances in 2013.

Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-4 with a home run against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
Stanton's 16th home run, a solo shot off Zack Greinke in the first inning, was the beginning and end of the Marlins offense on Wednesday. It was his third home run in his last five games. It's been a frustrating season for Stanton owners, but he finally looks to be generating the power we've come to expect from the 23-year-old.

Giancarlo Stanton went 3-for-5 with a double against the Dodgers on Tuesday.
Stanton also picked up an RBI and a run scored in the loss. He's been heating up recently, as he's got a seven-game hit streak in which he's 10-for-30 (.333) with two home runs and five runs scored. Unfortunately he still plays for the Marlins, so he's only driven in four runs in those seven games.

Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-4 and hit his 15th homer against the Dodgers on Monday.
The homer was his 12th in Miami this year. Incredibly, he's hitting just .184/.279/.296 with three homers in 152 at-bats on the road. He's slugging .620 at home.

Giancarlo Stanton hit a two-run homer Saturday in the Marlins' loss to the Giants.
It was his first home run since July 28. Stanton seems to be emerging from his prolonged offensive funk and should be a massive fantasy asset down the stretch.

The Miami Herald's Clark Spencer reports that the Marlins didn't receive a trade offer from the Pirates for Giancarlo Stanton.
Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review previously reported that the Pirates made a "significant offer" for Stanton that "caught the attention of the Marlins' front office." Spencer is saying that didn't happen, though he did add that the Fish received many offers for the outfielder. If he does ever go on the block, there will no doubt be a bevy of teams that try to put together a package for him.

Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the Pirates made a "significant offer" for Giancarlo Stanton that "caught the attention of the Marlins' front office."
Biertempfel says the Pirates "made repeated attempts to work a deal" for the outfielder. It's not clear what they offered, but the Bucs have enough pieces in their farm system to put together an enticing package. Biertempfel notes that they also made a run at Mark Trumbo but were told the Angels weren't interested in dealing him.
