CBS Sports' Danny Knobler reports that the Rangers have inquired about Giancarlo Stanton, Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion.
Texas is casting a wide net in their search for a right-handed hitter, though none of the aforementioned trio are expected to be moved. The Rangers have also looked at Alex Rios, Hunter Pence, Marlon Byrd and Chris Denorfia and should have a better chance of landing someone in that group.

According to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro, the Marlins will likely "stay the course" at the July 31 trade deadline.
The Fish have already unloaded starter Ricky Nolasco (to the Dodgers), but that could be the end of this year's firesale. Frisaro notes that Giancarlo Stanton, Logan Morrison, Steve Cishek and Mike Dunn "have all been mentioned in trade speculation" but adds that the Marlins don't expect to move any of them. All four players are under team control through at least the 2014 season.

Giancarlo Stanton blasted a game-tying solo homer off Rafael Soriano in the ninth inning on Saturday, allowing the Marlins to earn a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the Nationals.
Stanton finished the night 2-for-4. With the Fish trailing by a run, he fell behind in the count 1-2 before smashing a Rafael Soriano offering over the wall in left to lead off the ninth inning. He's now hitting .251/.361/.465 with 10 homers and 27 RBI in just 50 games on the season.

After delivering a two-run double in the first, Giancarlo Stanton walked three times over the rest of Wednesday's game against the Braves.
That double with two men on in the first was one of the few pitches he got to hit in the series. He ended up walking seven times in the three games against the Braves. It worked for Atlanta, too; he never came around to score after any of the seven walks.

Giancarlo Stanton launched a solo home run Saturday in the Marlins' defeat of the Padres.
It was his eighth home run of the season, and it gave the Fish another insurance run in what would wind up as a 7-1 victory. Stanton has an .843 OPS on the season and is capable of going on a sustained power tear.

Joe Frisaro of MLB.com was told by "two well-connected sources" that the Marlins consider Giancarlo Stanton "as a building block, not a trade chip."
In fact, one source described recent trade speculation as "laughable and lies." While the Marlins would love to keep Stanton if the price is right, indications are that he isn't ready to accept a long-term deal with the club. That situation could come to a head eventually, as the young slugger will be arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter. But the Marlins have no sense of urgency to move him and it would take a substantial offer to get them to bite.

Giancarlo Stanton swatted a pair of home runs and collected all of Miami's RBI in Monday's 3-2 victory against Arizona.
Stanton's two-run job off Patrick Corbin in the seventh tied the game at two and his homer off Heath Bell in the ninth turned out to be the decisive run. Stanton has hit safely in all seven games since coming off the disabled list and has collected two or more RBI in four of those contests. He's one of the hottest hitters in the game right now.

That's what we like to see. Stanton is now 6-for-18 (.333) with one home run, two doubles and five RBI in four games since coming off the disabled list. Fantasy owners are hopeful that he's ready to make up for lost time.

Giancarlo Stanton hit a two-run, eighth-inning homer to lead the Marlins to a 5-4 win over the Brewers on Tuesday.
The homer was Stanton's first since returning from the disabled list and just his fourth on the year. With his injury behind him, maybe Stanton will finally get back to being the power threat he struggled to be during the first month of the season.
