Giancarlo Stanton doubled and scored the only run of the game in Tuesday's win over the Braves. Stanton's double was one of just four Marlins hits in the game, and it was the only extra-base hit either side recorded in the pitchers duel. He came around to score on Casey McGehee's single in the fourth inning. The run was Stanton's league-leading 16th of the season.

Giancarlo Stanton blasted a walk-off grand slam off Yoervis Medina on Friday, powering the Marlins to an 8-4 victory. Stanton had a huge night at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a pair of runs scored, five RBI and also walked twice. He's been an absolute monster in the first few weeks of the season, slashing .329/.390/.657 with six homers and 26 RBI. As long as he can remain healthy, the sky is the limit.

Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-4 with a walk, double, and home run in Tuesday's win over the Nationals. Stanton hit a tape measure shot off of Stephen Strasburg in the first inning with two on, sending a slider 457 feet to dead center. Stanton is up to five home runs and 21 RBI on the season now, about what one would expect from the slugger. The only question concerns Stanton's ability to stay healthy over a full slate of games.

Giancarlo Stanton went deep twice in the Marlins' loss to the Phillies on Saturday night. Stanton's first home run was a mammoth 470-foot solo shot to center field off Phillies starter Jonathan Pettibone, and he followed with a two-run blast to left-center in the top of the seventh off Phillies reliever Justin De Fratus. The 24-year-old slugger has four home runs and 16 RBI in 12 games this year. That's a 216-RBI pace.

Giancarlo Stanton had an RBI single in Sunday's loss to the Padres, his seventh straight game with a run batted in. Stanton's RBI single was his lone hit in four at-bats, but he's still hitting .345 with 12 RBI through seven games. Stanton also stole his second base of the year in the game. It's certainly a better start than the 24-year-old enjoyed to his treacherous 2013 season.

Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in on Wednesday against the Rockies. Stanton hit his first home run of the season, a two-run blast off of Jordan Lyles in the sixth inning. He added an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth against closre LaTroy Hawkins, an attempt to bring the Marlins back into the ballgame. If Stanton can stay healthy throughout the season, he should hit plenty of home runs, perhaps enough to lead the league.

Giancarlo Stanton finished 0-for-3 against the Rockies on Tuesday. Stanton matched last year's total of one stolen base in one attempt in game number two, stealing second against Brett Anderson. He also knocked in a run with a ground ball double play and later came around to score.

Marlins general manager Dan Jennings said Friday that while Giancarlo Stanton is currently "happy", the two sides will not discuss a contract extension during the season. The superstar outfielder remains under team control through the 2016 season, so there is no extreme urgency to get a deal done. As long as he can stay on the field, Stanton is as good a bet as any to take home the National League home run crown in 2014.

Giancarlo Stanton hit his third spring homer Monday, a three-run shot off Mets reliever Gonzalez Germen. Stanton is the only Marlins regular really impressing with the bat this spring, though that's not really a first. He's currently sporting a .961 OPS in 36 at-bats.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Marlins don't plan to offer Giancarlo Stanton an extension until after the season. General manager Dan Jennings said in a radio interview last month that the club hopes to lock up Stanton over the long haul. However, he's under team control through 2016, so they're not in a rush to get something done now. And, while Jennings wouldn't say it, the club also probably wants to see what kind of trade offers they can get for Stanton in July and next winter before they lock him up. Stanton indicated that he would be expecting a contract similar to the eight-year, $135 million deal Freddie Freeman received. "The contract would be similar, I guess," he said. "It's not like he got this, I'm going to work for this. Our careers are very similar."
