Gavin Floyd (elbow) is scheduled to make his first minor league rehab start Thursday at Triple-A Gwinnett.
Floyd is still on the road to recovery from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery and is currently aiming to join the Braves' rotation mix at some point in early May. Which means a full month of minor league rehab starts. He signed a one-year, $4 million free agent contract with Atlanta in mid-December.

Braves placed RHP Gavin Floyd on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 21.
Signed to add starting pitching depth for the Braves this offseason, Floyd will now be relied upon to fill a much larger role with Kris Medlen and Brandon Beachy lost for the season. He's still working his way back from Tommy John surgery, and is expected to be ready to join the Braves in May.

Gavin Floyd (elbow) will make a start this month, possibly in a minor league game.
Floyd is nearly a week removed from facing hitters for the first time since last May's Tommy John and flexor muscle surgery. While he'll be ready for some game action by late March, the Braves aren't expecting him to be an option for their rotation until early May.

Gavin Floyd (elbow) will throw live batting practice on Wednesday.
It will be the first time he's thrown to hitters since last May's Tommy John and flexor muscle surgery. Floyd has already thrown plenty from the mound and incorporated all his pitches, and this is the next step in the rehab process. The Braves are hoping he'll be ready to join their rotation in mid-to-late May.

Gavin Floyd turned down a bigger offer from the Orioles to sign with the Braves, according to the Baltimore Sun.
The 30-year-old inked a one-year, $4 million contract with Atlanta on Monday. Baltimore countered with a two-year offer that could have been worth up to $20 million with incentives. The Orioles insisted on the second year because Floyd isn't expected to be healthy until May. Floyd, who posted a 4.22 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over seven years with the White Sox, will attempt to rebuild his value in 2014 and try out free agency again next winter.
