Jerry Crasnick of ESPN reports that the Braves have signed Gavin Floyd to a one-year, $4 million deal.
The one-year contract also carries $4.5 million in performance-based incentives. Floyd is on his way back from Tommy John elbow surgery and not expected to be ready for major league starts until May. The Braves will hope the deal pays off down the stretch. Floyd, 30, owns a 4.48 career ERA and 1.34 career WHIP.

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that Gavin Floyd could complete a deal with the Braves by Monday.
David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution first reported on Saturday that a deal between the two was close. The particulars of the contract are not yet known. Floyd is coming off surgery to repair his ulnar collateral ligament and a torn flexor tendon in his elbow, but he's hoping to be major league-ready by mid-May.

David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is hearing the Braves and Gavin Floyd are close to an agreement.
The Braves haven't been rumored to be in on Floyd, with O'Brien identifying them as the "mystery team" reported previously. There's no word on the terms of a possible deal, but a one-year deal is likely with Floyd still recovering from Tommy John surgery. The Braves were said to be interested in Jeff Samardzija as well, so this deal may effectively take them out of the running for the Cubs' ace.

Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports that Gavin Floyd is close to signing a one-year contract with an unspecified team.
Encina notes that the team is not the Orioles. Floyd, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery underwent last May, is expected to receive an incentive-laden deal where he'll look to prove his health before hitting the free agent market again.

Eddie A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Orioles continue to monitor free agent right-hander Gavin Floyd.
Floyd is coming off surgery in May to repair his ulnar collateral ligament and a torn flexor tendon in his elbow, but a recent report indicated that he is expected to be cleared to throw from a mound in early December. He'll likely sign an incentive-laden deal. The Twins are another team who has reportedly expressed interest.

Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that the Twins are interested in Gavin Floyd and Chris Capuano.
Berardino was told as much by Mike Moye, the agent for both players. Floyd is recovering ahead of schedule from Tommy John and flexor muscle surgeries and is expected to begin throwing off a mound next month. "Gavin says he's just felt great," Moye said. "We're expecting a great doctor's report and hope to start a mound progression shortly thereafter."

Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Orioles have been monitoring Gavin Floyd's progress from his elbow surgeries.
Floyd underwent surgery in early May to repair the ulnar collateral ligament and flexor muscle in his right elbow. He was originally given a 14-19 month timetable to return, but Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors reported Tuesday that Floyd should be cleared around early December to resume throwing off a mound. Floyd is from the Baltimore area and would make for a nice gamble on a one-year, incentive-laden deal.

Gavin Floyd's agent told Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors on Tuesday that his client should be cleared around early December to resume throwing off a mound.
Floyd began long-tossing this week from a distance of 180 feet and has reported no issues with his surgically-repaired right elbow. The hope is that he'll be healthy enough for live game action before Opening Day. The 30-year-old is a free agent this winter.

White Sox activated RHP Gavin Floyd from the 60-day disabled list.
It's just a procedural move to get him back on the 40-man roster. Floyd is an impending free agent and will miss most of the 2014 campaign after having a pair of surgeries on his right elbow in May.

Gavin Floyd underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair the ulnar collateral ligament and flexor muscle in his right elbow.
The surgeon told the White Sox that the operation "could not have gone better." However, since he needed two major areas operated on, the recovery is expected to be 14-19 months rather than the standard 12 months for Tommy John surgery. With that timetable, Floyd probably shouldn't be counted on for a whole lot in 2014. He'll be a free agent over the winter.
