Gordon was 3-for-5 with a walk, a pair of stolen bases, and four runs scored in an extra innings win over Tampa Bay on Friday night.
This is exactly what the Marlins were looking for when they acquired him - someone to ignite their offense. The top four hitters in the lineup (Gordon, Yelich, Stanton, and Morse) went a combined 9-for-17 with seven runs scored and eight driven in as they defeated the Rays.

Gordon went 1-for-4 and swiped his first base of the season in Wednesday's loss to the Braves.
The Marlins looked like they had something going in the third inning, loading the bases for cleanup hitter Mike Morse with two outs, but Braves starter Shelby Miller was able to escape unscathed. Gordon has reached base in each of his first three games with the Marlins and has a pair of stolen base attempts so far. He'll continue to get plenty of opportunities to spark the Marlins' offense by being aggressive on the basepaths.

Gordon went 1-for-4 with an RBI in his Marlins debut.
Miami's new leadoff man got the team on the board with an RBI single in the third, but was thrown out trying to steal second base moments later. Gordon blamed the miscue on a wet track thanks to a head-scratching rain delay in a stadium equipped with a retractable roof. Regardless of the results, it is nice to see Gordon off and running early with his new team.

The Marlins are planning on using Gordon as their leadoff hitter, the team's official site reports.
With the acquisition of Gordon from the Dodgers, the Marlins want to infuse speed atop their batting order. Subsequently, Christian Yelich will move down, either to the second or third spot. Manager Mike Redmond is expected to try a few different lineups during spring training. Gordon is hardly a lock to keep the top spot all season, as he struggled in the second half with the Dodgers and posted a .300 on-base percentage after the All-Star break.

Gordon agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Marlins on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports.
Gordon will make five times as much as he made in 2014 in his first year of arbitration, and the 26-year-old will receive additional $25,000 if he earns another All-Star selection in his first year with Miami. Written off by some following a disappointing start to his career, Gordon hit .289/.326/.378 with 64 steals in 83 attempts last season, though he was relatively lucky with a .346 BABIP (.326 for career).

The Dodgers agreed to trade Gordon to the Marlins on Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports.
Other names in the trade have not yet been confirmed, but pitching prospect Andrew Heaney is believed to be headed to Los Angeles in the deal. Gordon certainly represents an upgrade at second base for the Marlins, who relied heavily on the likes of Donovan Solano, Jeff Baker and Jordany Valdespin at the position last season. The league leader in stolen bases in 2014, Gordon also posted a career-high .704 OPS, more than 90 points above his 2013 mark.

Gordon (hip) has been officially cleared for Friday's Game 1 of the NLDS against the Cardinals, the Dodgers' official site reports.
Good news for the Dodgers, who can then utilize Justin Turner's hot bat later in the game. Gordon finished 2014 as the league's leader in stolen bases (64), triples (12), and infield hits (62).

Gordon (hip) fully expects to play Friday in Game 1 of the NLDS, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Gordon was cleared to resume running on his injured hip Tuesday, and he said he felt fine after going through a full workout. The Dodgers sent Gordon for an MRI after he suffered to injury Saturday, but they were adamant that it was strictly precautionary.

Gordon (hip) has been cleared to run, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
The Dodgers were concerned enough about Gordon's ailing hip to send him for an MRI after he left Saturday's game, but fortunately, nothing serious was found. Manager Don Mattingly said Sunday that he was "optimistic" Gordon would be ready for Game 1 of the NLDS, and Gordon's ability to resume running bodes well for his chances of being at second base and atop the order come Friday.
