Gordon is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Padres. A two-hit effort Tuesday extended Gordon's hitting streak to six games, but he'll sit Wednesday in favor of Justin Turner at second base. It marks Gordon's second time on the bench in six games and third in 10 games, as it seems manager Don Mattingly is intent on resting the 26-year-old a bit more down the stretch in an attempt to preserve his health for the postseason.

Gordon hit 3-for-4 Saturday with two runs and an RBI in a win over the Diamondbacks. After sitting out Friday, Gordon returned to the lineup and promptly hit the go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning to lead the Dodgers to a 5-2 victory. Gordon, however, failed to record a stolen base as he was caught stealing for the 17th time this season in the third inning. He still leads the majors in stolen bases with 58 and has a .288 batting average to boot.

Gordon is out of the lineup Friday. Gordon is getting a rare day off, and after a scorching start to the season, his overall numbers are still incredibly elite for a second baseman. Not only are his 58 steals and 74 runs fantastic, but he is hitting .284, which is much higher than anyone would have expected at the start of the season.

Gordon is out of the lineup Sunday against the Padres, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports. Gordon will sit with the left-handed Eric Stults on the mound for the Padres following a 0-for-11 stretch at the plate over the past two games. Darwin Barney takes the start in his place and will bat eighth for the Dodgers on Sunday.

Gordon delivered a three-hit performance and gathered an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Diamondbacks. Despite reaching base three times, Gordon was held without a steal for the fifth straight game. His 57 stolen bases on the season still lead the majors by a sizable margin, and a six-game hitting streak has helped him recover from a recent slump in the batting average department.

Gordon went 3-for-5 with one run scored and one RBI against the Mets on Friday night. The success of Gordon (.289/.334/.383) this season at the top of the order is one of the main reasons the Dodgers are contending for a division title. With 70 runs and 57 stolen bases, Gordon remains one of the league best lead-off hitters. He just needs to learn how to work the count a bit more and snag some walks from time-to-time.

Gordon is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Padres. Manager Don Mattingly said recently that he will take measures to ensure Gordon's health for the stretch run, so Wednesday's absence is not any sort of red flag. Gordon has started six straight for the Dodgers and 10 of 11. Darwin Barney will take over at second base and atop the order against left-hander Eric Stults.

Gordon went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and his 55th and 56th stolen bases on the year against the Brewers on Friday. The Dodgers' infielder has five stolen bases over his last three games played and is starting to swing the bat like he was earlier in the season. Gordon (.293/.339/.387) will continue to bat lead off for the Dodgers on most days, while he remains an important catalyst for their everyday lineup.

Gordon went 3-for-4 with a walk, two steals and four runs scored Thursday against the Braves. Now that's how you make things happen at the top of the lineup. Gordon's breakout season continues, and if his on-base skills continue improving, the sky's the limit.
