David Wright went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Friday's win over the Twins.
Wright sparked a first inning rally with a two-run double, then collected an RBI double to kick off the scoring in the second. He later added an RBI triple in the seventh. While Wright is still looking for his first home run of the season, he owns a healthy .297/.422/.432 batting line and an .855 OPS through 10 games. The 30-year-old remains one of the most valuable fantasy options at third base.

David Wright (intercostal) is expected to return to Grapefruit League action on Friday.
Wright has played in minor league games the last couple days, but his inclusion in the Grapefruit League lineup in effect confirms that he will be ready for Opening Day. Fantasy owners should feel free to draft him without reservations.

David Wright (intercostal) went 1-for-5 with a single and a run scored in a minor league game on Tuesday.
Most importantly, Wright had no issues with his strained intercostal muscle. It's not clear what the next step will be, but all signs are pointing toward him being in the starting lineup on Opening Day.

David Wright (intercostal) will play in a minor league game Tuesday.
Good news. Wright has picked up the intensity of his workouts in recent days and hasn't experienced any setbacks with his strained intercostal muscle. The Mets are testing him on the minor league side first so they could backdate a potential stint on the disabled list, but he appears to be on track for Opening Day.

David Wright (intercostal) went through a normal workout on Monday morning in Mets camp.
Wright took grounders at third base and participated in on-field batting practice, telling reporters after his day was through that he felt "good." It sure sounds like he's going to be ready for the start of the regular season.

David Wright (intercostal) took batting practice Sunday for the first time since returning from the World Baseball Classic.
MLB.com's Anthony DiComo tweeted that Wright was "letting it fly" and that "everything seems to be on track for him for Opening Day." It's not clear when the third baseman will be cleared to play in games, but he's now resumed fielding grounders and taken pain-free batting practice, so it shouldn't be long. Barring a setback, it appears he'll be at the hot corner on April 1 against the Padres.

David Wright (intercostal strain) hit off a tee for the first time since being injured at the World Baseball Classic.
Wright also fielded grounders at third base for the second-straight day. The newly-named Mets captain is still hoping to be ready for Opening Day, but is running out of time with the season opener just eight days away. "I'm glad it's a goal," GM Sandy Alderson said. "Is it realistic? Yeah, I think it's realistic. I don't think there's any certainty, but it's realistic."

David Wright (intercostal) ran, took grounders and played catch Friday.
While that's nice to hear, Wright still isn't ready to swing a bat and it's not clear when he will be. Mets manager Terry Collins believes that his newly-named captain will be ready for Opening Day against the Padres on April 1, but he'll be cutting it close.

The Mets officially named David Wright as team captain on Thursday afternoon.
Wright is the fourth captain in team history, joining Keith Hernandez, Gary Carter and John Franco. "This is probably one of the proudest days of my career so far," said Wright. The 30-year-old owns a .301/.381/.506 batting line over nine seasons with the Mets and is poised to finish his career with the club after agreeing to an eight-year, $138 million extension in December.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Wednesday that he's confident David Wright (intercostal) will be ready for the first game of the 2013 regular season.
Wright has been shut down for the past week with a moderate intercostal strain. He was locked-in while playing for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic, so the Mets aren't worried about getting him a ton more Grapefruit League at-bats. We'll still call him questionable for now.
