Duffy (shoulder) will throw 65 pitches for Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports.
Duffy has been the victim of persistent rain hampering his rehab schedule. He looked sharp in his first outing, allowing just one run in four innings of work. Duffy could be ready to head back to the majors after this start, but will likely need an additional rehab start before being called up again.

Duffy (shoulder) managed just four pitches in Sunday's rehab outing for Triple-A Omaha before the game was suspended due to weather, MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan reports.
Duffy put together four innings of one-run ball in his first rehab outing, striking out four and walking just one. Had his second outing gone as planned, it could have potentially shown enough for the Royals to consider activating the left-hander. This won't be the case, however, as Kansas City brass will likely want to see Duffy in at least one more rehab game. The date for this has yet to be determined.

Duffy (shoulder) is expected to make two or three rehab starts with Triple-A Omaha before rejoining the Royals, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports.
Duffy will kick off his rehab assignment Tuesday and will likely be capped at around 50 pitches during the outing. Manager Ned Yost indicated the team planned on having a rotation spot available for Duffy when he returns from the DL, with Jeremy Guthrie and Chris Young seemingly representing the most likely candidates to lose out on their current starting roles. Duffy has underperformed this season with a 5.87 ERA and 1.69 WHIP over 38.1 innings, but the Royals believe that the time off to address the shoulder issue could allow him to reemerge as the serviceable mid-rotation arm the team was banking on heading into the season.

Duffy (shoulder) tweaked his throwing motion, and he now lifts his arms over his head, Matthew DeFranks of FOX Sports KC reports.
Duffy showed off the new motion during Thursday's bullpen session, which he said he was pleased with, according to Josh Vernier of 610 Sports Radio. Duffy hopes the tweak will help with his control, as he's thus far allowed 18 walks in 38.1 innings this season. It's still unclear when he'll rejoin the Royals, and there's no assurance he'll slot back into the rotation when that happens.

Duffy (shoulder) threw another bullpen session Tuesday, and he's scheduled for a simulated game Thursday, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports.
Duffy continues to make progress, but it's unclear whether he'll immediately slot back into the rotation once he's ready to return. The Royals might consider using him as a long reliever/sixth starter until the need arises for a replacement in the rotation. Chris Young has been effective, and Jason Vargas has improved, but Jeremy Guthrie gave up 11 runs in his last outing, ballooning his ERA to 6.70.

Duffy (shoulder) threw another bullpen session Sunday, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports.
Duffy has thrown twice in the last three days as he aims to work his way back from a sore shoulder. He'll be eligible to return from the DL on Monday, but the Royals could opt to wait a few additional days before bringing him back. It's not immediately clear what role Duffy will fill upon his activation, as the Royals have since returned Jason Vargas from the DL and continue to receive great work from Chris Young, which could close off Duffy's path to the rotation at least temporarily. Duffy isn't helped by the fact he struggled in his first eight starts before being sidelined, as he posted a 5.87 ERA and 1.69 WHIP across 38.1 innings.

Duffy (shoulder) is expected to throw a bullpen session Friday, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports.
Duffy was sent to the disabled list Monday due to shoulder soreness, but has begun the rehab process. The move was retroactive to May 17, so he can return as early as June 1. While it seems unlikely he'll be available that early, a return at some point in early-to-mid June doesn't appear out of the question.

Duffy (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday.
Duffy's start was pushed back due to shoulder soreness, and it appears the issue was severe enough to require a stint on the disabled list. The move is retroactive to May 17, making his eligible return date June 1, but the team recalled Brandon Finnegan on Monday to replace him on the 25-man roster for the time being.

Manager Ned Yost is now unwilling to commit to Duffy for Tuesday's start against the Yankees, Josh Vernier of 610 AM Sports Radio reports.
Poor weather in Kansas City for Sunday's tilt with the Cardinals could put the game at risk of getting postponed or suspended, which would likely result in Yost moving his starters back a day. Even if the weather cooperates, there's still a good possibility that Duffy will be pushed back, as he hasn't been able to throw since suffering some apparent shoulder stiffness following his May 16 outing against the Yankees. The Royals have a team off day Thursday, so the team could conceivably skip Duffy's turn and still keep the rest of the rotation on regular rest.

Duffy will have his next start pushed back to Tuesday against the Yankees due to shoulder stiffness, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports Radio reports.
Vernier reported that Duffy had some stiffness in his shoulder during a bullpen session this week. With Duffy's start being pushed back to Tuesday, the Royals will turn to Edinson Volquez on Saturday and Yordano Ventura on Sunday.
