Duffy is no longer experiencing shoulder discomfort, but the status of his next scheduled start Tuesday remains up in the air, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports. Duffy was removed from his last start Saturday after just one pitch, but received some good news Tuesday when an MRI came back showing no structural damage. He has yet to play catch since suffering the injury the injury, however, and remains uncertain as to when he'll be allowed to throw again. Duffy had originally anticipated only missing one turn in the rotation, and if this notion is going to hold true, he'll need to throw a bullpen session by Sunday.

Duffy (shoulder) received positive news Monday, as an initial MRI revealed rotator-cuff inflammation as nothing appeared to be structurally wrong with his ailing shoulder, USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports. He was removed from his last start with shoulder soreness, but it sounds like something that may just require rest. He is still likely to miss his next scheduled start, but there's a chance he could still make a couple more starts this season. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Duffy (shoulder) will be sent to Kansas City for an MRI, Vahe Gregorian of the Kansas City Star reports. He's expected to miss at least one start, even in the best-case scenario. According to Royals manager Ned Yost, Duffy simply couldn't get loose prior to Saturday's start. He left after throwing one pitch, and the expectation is that Liam Hendriks will fill in for Duffy as long as the left-hander is unavailable.

Duffy was removed from Saturday's start after just one pitch with left shoulder soreness, Vahe Gregorian of the Kansas City Star reports. The extent of Duffy's setback remains uncertain, and it's not clear if he felt any soreness prior to the game, or if the injury occurred during the contest. Expect the Royals to provide another update on Duffy's status after the team's medical staff takes a more thorough look at his arm.

Duffy was removed from Saturday's start after throwing just one pitch, Josh Vernier of Fox Sports Kansas City reports. It's not clear what type of setback forced Duffy from the game, but he was taken out after being looked at briefly by the team's training staff. Expect an update on Duffy's status as more details become available.

Duffy turned in a solid 6.2 innings Sunday night against the Indians, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out six. Due to inclement weather, the game was suspended in the middle of the 10th. Duffy finished up yet another strong month of work on the mound, as the 25-year-old hurler continues his breakout effort here in 2014. Across a half-dozen starts in August, the Royals' lefty went 3-1 with an impressive 2.41 ERA and 0.96 WHIP while surrendering just one home run over 37.1 innings. Duffy is slated to be back on the mound Saturday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

Duffy took a no-decision Tuesday against the Twins, giving up one run over 6.2 innings while striking out four batters. Thanks to a 10:5 groundball-to-flyball ratio in the outing, Duffy was able to generate two double plays and help hold runners at bay. Duffy has generally been an extreme flyball pitcher and owns a relatively weak 6.8 K/9 rate, but his favorable home park has aided him in maintaining a 2.47 ERA that probably isn't indicative of his true talent level.

A tough night for Duffy (8-11) on Wednesday, allowing five runs, but only one earned, while walking one and striking out six over seven innings in a loss to the Rockies. Third baseman Christian Colon's error lead to a Matt McBride grand slam that put Duffy and the Royals away in the sixth inning. The left-hander has been fantastic this year, giving up more than four runs only twice since May 28. Duffy will face the Twins on Tuesday.

Duffy gave up three runs (two earned) on six hits over 5.1 innings pitched on Friday against the Twins as he picked up his eighth win of the season. It was obvious that manager Ned Yost didn't want Duffy heading too deep into the late innings, especially when you consider Duffy only threw 79 pitches on the night. Duffy's ERA currently sits at an excellent 2.60 on the season.

Duffy was solid once again in Sunday's win over San Francisco, allowing three hits and four runs (with four strikeouts and three walks) in 6.2 innings. Duffy looked sharp until the seventh inning, when he allowed two walks and then a two-run double to Andrew Susac. Reliever Jason Frasor came on soon after and allowed Susac to score. Despite the shaky inning, Duffy still earned the winning decision, and he's now surrendered a mere seven earned runs over 31 innings since the All-Star break. He'll next take the mound on Friday in Minnesota.
